Port Kembla offshore 30/3

Afternoon Raiders,

Decided to change things up and head south for something a bit different. Proceeded to head off shore to about the 90m east of port Kembla and wanted to bottom bounce…. 2 blue movies were on board in 10mins, beauty thought its going to be easy. No.

 

95m= Green toads

85m = Green toads

75m = Green toads

65m = Green toads

55m = Green toads

45m = Green toads

35m = Green toads

25m = Green toads.

 

After loosing 10 pounds in sinkers and endless about of hooks I called it quits and beat the traffic back to the ramp home

 

This has surely got to be the worst season for Green toads surely….

Those pesky toads! Shame you didn’t come across any quality fish.

Can you identify them on the sounder in any way or do they look the same as a bait ball?

You could kinda make them out on the sounder once you’ve dropped your baits over. Then when you wind they just follow the rig up….

*&^@#*^ green toads. Might have to fish in the Hacking, though I have caught a few of them inside as well.

As I posted In another report … they were out at Browns Mt on Monday and taxed me 3 x 2.5kg sinkers bitten off at the surface while gaffing the blue eyes! 
They’re everywhere apparently.

looks like I’ll be seeing you at the tackle store too.

I think they follow the boat & come hang around when they spot you. Only way I could escape them the other day was speeding off in between every drop - and then drop down quick within seconds of stopping. Wind up crazy fast too. Easier to do with a JetSki.
