james Cutler
It was cold & quite. Top sunrise. Nothing happening, moved around. Caught a tailor ( released ) Next up a nice flathead & then a trevally. Switched to lures & landed a snapper 48cm & another flathead.. Back to bait. Caught two bream. That was enough.
LuckyFil
Not a bad morning I’d say. Snapper on a lure! Do you mind telling what type?

Koalaboi
Many years ago I used to fish and surf the reef at the south end of Newport. We’d wade out to the “island” an hour or two before low tide and back to the shore before the water got too deep after the tide started running in. The fishing was absolutely sensational. Pigs, blackfish, bream, tailor and snapper were abundant. On some days with a southerly wind there was a perfect little barrel to surf on the north side where the waves crossed. A lot of the time would see a bit of blood and board damage but the wave was sensational too. KB
