  1. Check out the short video. How hard that groper went. I spend 2 hours on editing, looks alrite. The quality is not that good, it was taken by the phone.
  2. Thanks mate, I was using 20lb main line 40lb leader. I was lucky that the line snapped just after i landed it. I think she was trying very hard to cut me off on a cave.
  3. Thanks for all the reply guys. sorry about the photo quality, i was using the phone camera. I have to say a big "Thank You" to my fishing mate, without him, i wouldn't be able to land any of these fish. The situation was extremly hard to land a fish, on a slippery rock platform, the wave was coming up too. The Blue went very hard, i never thought those thing will fight that hard. Personally, i think those beautiful species are just far too valuable to kill, not only by legislation. It feels so good to see it swim away. i will try to enter it in to the FOTM.

    2 Pbs

Got a morning call from a fishing mate today, checked the weather was great. Backed up with some old baits, we planned to go on to the rock at bondi, target whatever shows up. Got to Bondi at 12ish, tide was running out, we spend nearly 2 hours picked up some red crabs on the rocks. got a slow beginning, nth happening till around 2.30. But finally its happended. something grabbed the crab bait, went like a train. After about 5 mints battle, i have landed my pb blue groper. It weighted approximently 8-10 kg (i guessed the weight, didn't bring a scale, any expert can give a tip?) The fish was very fat and healthy. It was carefully released after a few photoes with the fish of my lifetime. half an hour later, the same rig, hooked up another monster, it didn't go that hard, and i could pull it in easily. but i was shocked after i see this meter plus port jackson shark. Another 15 mints were all spend on landing this monster. but we managed a great success. Another PB!! This fishe was released as well. Couldn't manage to take anything back for a feed today, but it was very nice to see those beauty swim away and disappear in the deep water. (By the way, Can i enter those catch in this month's Comp.?)
  5. I've been using Abu for long time, but they seems very hard to get repaired in Australia. However, my favourite always being shimano.
  6. That's a great flattie. I know the part of IC you were fishing at, familar for me, have caught heaps of flatties there but none of them reached that size. . If you need a fishing mate next time give me a PM, as i often fish that area too.
  7. Well, there isn't many species i can target due to limited options for a landbased fisho in winter time. trevally and blackfish are the main target. Drummer and Groper off the rocks if i can find a experienced rock fisho to go with. And Salmon can always be on the list if i am keen enough standing in the zilch water and fish the surf. That's all for me, but the biggest challenage can always being the . happy
  8. I'm a town planner work in local government. 5 days a week,no extra hours give me plenty of time fish at night.
  9. By the way, may I ask what was the jew caught on? Tailor or yakka or squid? And are there many snags? ( obviously i am planning a session now) last time i fished in the harhour for jewie, lost about 30 sinkers and loads of hooks, but didn't even get a jewie touch.
  10. Man, you r the legend. Good to share spots, i believe this weekend, there will be full of raiders. Top fish there, and you are turning me on this weekend no matter how bad the weather gonna be.
  11. I was fishing from the shore near george's head.
  12. That's some top fish there.made the effort for the entire season!!
  13. Thanks mate. Being 4 years i am still in search of my first jew. i am pretty much given up for this season, but i am gonna start some serious research during the winter, and hopfully i can have a more productive season next year. G'day. Can you tell if i am still alright?
  14. Fished the Harbour on Saturday from 4pm till 7pm. Got fresh squids, pillies and Tuna fillets for bait. The first hour goes disappointed, but hits suddenly came just after the sun set. Was too busy to manage my 3 rods by myself. But it went down quickly after 1 hour. Got heaps of undersized reddie and small trevallies. Managed 2 bigger trevallies and a snapper just being legal and a good size tailor.(dunt have the measurement) I was after flattie and wishes of a late autumn jewie for the session. (caught a nice flattie at the same spot 2 weeks ago. see pic attached) Disappointed none of them appears to be active due to the cooler water perhaps? But still had a ball with a feed of fresh fish. Cheers
  15. I was there too yestorday morning on a charter boat, that was a 38 ft, but i still suffered the serious seasick due to the terrible condition. we didn't have much luck, all we were getting were leather jackets, but still good to see some keen fishoes having success.
  16. This is my 4th year in searching for my first jew...... let me count how many hours are there......
  17. Hi, Pjfrad: i think i have read about your article on another website about trevally, that was great. for breams, the berkley 2'' power grub has provided great results for me. But again, use a light jighead, coz breams like to take the plastic on its drop, same as other species such as trevally.
