  1. hahaha funny read, you sound asian for some reason, must be the tone your text gives of. don't worry i've learnt a lot kayak fishing. its all different!
  2. holy ! well that school teacher wasn't me....... i got 2 trev 1 bream trolling around dolls pt mucking around haha i can't believe someone is better than you. and with the run out i can guess where you were =) the good ol spot aye. yes last time i was there this old bloke owned, very similar to what your fishing school teacher did, he was using pillies. what bait did the damage this time?
  3. after reading some old discussions with keflapod and continually failing on lures this season i turned to bait! pumpping nippers the day before and working out what to do went kurnell oil wharf to burley. when i got there, there was a few boats and one guy stated he had 15 trev and 10 bream in the bag! using pillies! i only managed these below, and some throw backs but thats because i believe by burley trail was breaking all the time since i was trailing a new way to burley... also another trip i did the same thing and fished off wide towra with a working burley system and managed 8 bream and 3 trev, but only after i got soaking wet. the fish has been legal but not big by any means. plz bring on summer so my lures can work once again! a public thank you to keflapod helpping a newbie like me on bait to manage some fish...
  4. nice catch, the bay is really quiet lately, its a worry. .. .
  5. i thought you couldn't eat the fish from the parra ? great report though
  6. man what a great video thats my aim when i got enough money in years to come... and finding enough mates to form a crew lol!
  7. heyas it sure is complicated, i've started a journal like yourself i usually have a hard time getting a feed when its running in, have been fishing the shallows but no good. don't know why, the run out seems to get them on a lot more shallow or deep are you still burleying for the run in? i find there isn't much current during the run in and the burley isn't going anywhere thus no fish is coming around any theories on this topic?
  8. ah, my catches are nothing worthy of posting.. unlike yours!! same old, flathead and trev, can never be consistent with the bream.. too lazy to pump for nippers too if i do well this school holiday i will definitely post something and i would like to join in the jolly chat with dhype as well
  9. well done as always tony, it was a hard days fishing, care to enlighten us all? whyyyyyyyyyyyyyy lol
  10. WOW!! im going to start saving for a boat............. no more kayak fishing! what a dream..
  11. shimano raider soft plastic is around 100 if you know where to look... i really like the below. actually casts 1g jigheads unlike others in shimano range of 100bucks Description Product Code Length (m) Pieces Line Wt. (kg) Lure Wt. Blank Butt Assembly Guide Raider SP- Bream 611 Spin RSP611SPL 2.08 1 2-4 1-9 Graphite SKELETON CORK SEA GUIDE pm me if u want to know more
  12. don't pay $140 for the raider but the Shimano Raider Soft Plastics Series 611 Bream Fishing Rod looks really good meant for 1-9gm lure weight, i don't like the old raider because it was 3-10g casting weight, can't flick light jigheads. so i bought T curve but now with the above rod, its cheap, 120ish and its mean for these small jigheads.
  13. thats hectic could someone tell me the cost and details?!?!
  14. shimano symetre around 105 from online shop from US normally 150 retail here. between a sedona and saros. i got the size 3000 and sedona doesn't even have 3000 size!
  15. hey i've caught so much trevally my family is sick of eating it. just wait for a run out in the morning at botany bay, make a good big block of frozen burley, cut 2 holes in a+_+_) shopping fabric bag. cast sp into the burley trail... hehe
  16. hi yes both coloured gulps can be used for salt water.. if you fish of a boat or kayak then 1/8th up to 5m is great, i use this up to 15 knots while drifting with a sea anchor in my hobie. if landbased 1/6th will cast further but it might not tempt a bream. start with 4inch turtleback worms, they do great things. if you want a cheap setup the catanas/raiders and a 1000 size reel is great to start. with 4lb fireline/braid. i use size 1000 because i can flick all day and not get a tired wrist. lowest 8lb for flatheads if your targeting them and you may even tempt a bream. i fish 2m of 6lb leaders for everything in botany bay, make sure its flurocarbon, i use the brand rock FC 100m for like 16bucks (campsie tackle) and that is REALLY cheap usually its $20-25
  17. hi, hope I can share some of my experience. you should be matching the weight of jigheads to the specs for the rod,so you can flick it. not really cast it like when you are fishing with bait. 5-10m sounds about right for 3g, i fish of a kayak. light soft plastics landbased im not sure but depending on how deep your area is. 3g is for 5-6m depth or less. if you are going for flatheads you can increase the weight but as you go heavier the bream will be less likely to bite.
  18. hey mate i have posted on the other forums, send us a reply or PM so i can identify you. yea i'd love to explore different waterways. talk soon.
  19. heyas any fellow teachers on school holidays to fish the bay or otherwise? im keen on finding a buddy to fish the holidays! I fish of a hobie revo, but if you have a boat im keen to share whatever costs comes our way!
  20. ah master of whiting and bream. how come the trevs don't latch on for you? only the good stuff? hehe I know im lure fishing on my yak but........ the ratio is completely off! even when I bait fish I get more trevs than bream!
  21. nice report! good to see the fish is back at towra. how big were those flatties? wonderful to see the water warm up.
  22. Halco Scorpion 35mm, the ones that go 1.4m works well. change to owner trebles I am trailing 52mm deep diving versions now that go 3m. they are light so you will need a good flick rod to cast out. 7'2 versions I troll them of my kayak and do quite well
  23. I want a general idea when the fish in the bay gets active again. Bream and flathead around towra.
  24. heya was wondering could anyone tell me when does botany bay's water temp go up? from memory i read somewhere that it takes 2 months following the change of weather?
