  3. heyas I got a hobie and always thought would long bay be suitable for a yak fisherman? whats around there, and what dangers should I be looking for? obviously swell and wind but maybe directions of wind I need to be aware of? I googled and searched 3 forums and no one has ever made a report for long bay except fish raider, about the boat ramp but thats it! no fish there or something?

  5. heya all so i've worked out that run in tide in botany bay isn't that great, after all my efforts suggested by a mate of mine that cold water from ocean comes in , clear and cold turning fish off so where do all the fish end up when a run in of cold water comes in???????? hides in georges river, woolooware bay? but i read somewhere that in winter a warm ocean run in can turn fish on as well any masters out there want to share where i should focus on a run in tide?

  15. im using 6lb or 4lb but that day it was dirty water so i was using 6lb 1/12 jighead in 2-3m light jigheads are good but man wind picks up u can't cast much i use 1/12 and 1/8 and 1/6 for places deep like 10-15m on still calm days next to the wharf , jigheads don't bite and i put on a 1/16 feed line down and don't even move it, with a gulp worm, i actually catch fish im thinkin its the same deal atm in winter , gulp bait? hhahe
  16. good suggestions!! keep them coming@! im going to try drop shotting gulps since its more subtle and more towards bait i wonder if that works
  17. heyas was testing bait vs lure, and i do pretty well usually on gulps and hbs while trolling of my hobie. not much luck on blades so far so i stick to what works testing this at towra , my mate used nipper 2 whiting about mid 40's 2 trev 1 bream 1 flounder while i was using gulps only managed 2 trev and lost something that ran about 50m jew or ray i usually outfish bait but in winter lures go down the drain lol whats your prefered lure in winter? for table fish...... cheers!
  18. didn't know there was fish so close to the beach therE?! i was planning to fish towra launching kayak from dolls point maybe i'ii just fish around there?!?!
  19. its the 2 poles that is about 4m apart in middle of botany bay lots of trev around there wen their biting
  20. couldn't find the specific detail on leader size for trolling small hb for bream and flathead now i fish 4lb on plastics for bream use to use 6lb, have landed decent size flattie up to 75cm while fishing for bream, but definitely more bites on 4lb i really don't want to lose my new hb lures, been reading what i can, some people suggest that over 8lb the bream won't bite due to being spooked so im thinking 8lb is optimum for both species. or you pro's out there suggest just use 6lb? however i have caught 1 bream on 10lb trolling and 0 flatties and mainly flatheads on 6lb while i had the leader which is confusing! now i only have 4lb and 10lb atm so i may just have to buy some 6lb or 8lb which ever is suggested here cheers everyone!

  23. caught nothing but a snag my atack lure is goneeeeeeeee =( looks like your whole days fishing paid off i bought a pink scorpion but i think i got the wrong version its the STD which sinks but only does 1m, not the 1.4m , it could make a diff its same depth as the laser pro im in search of some trolling hb for fishing near kurnell oil wharf to the sticks but i can't locate/figure out any seems like they are all made for the flats of max 2m depth??!? if i can get something like 4m depth trolling it would be awsome to hit the sticks with it any ideas??! sx40 goes down to 2m only same as most of them Poltergeist seems really big ay.......3m normal , 8m the crash depth one i read somewhere pink works because it looks like yabbys hehe, thats interesting
