  1. He would struggle casting a 3gram lure on his 50lb mono outfit with a wire trace just in case the bream bite him off!! Thanks mate... was happy with the bream PB.. best thing was I captured the entire day on the Sony Action cam... wet myself everything I replay the clip of the fish pull drag.. zzzzzzz oh no ! I just ....... Dear Stewy, Leader of TSBBC... can you please show me how to rig up my servo pillie on mustard 4/0 gang hooks?... hahhahaah I actually submitted this request to the admins... 3cm prawn on hardbody... looking forward to my first "records" badge! That's what she said last night!!! hahhahaah
  2. Luke u grumpy looking bastard.... That "jew" would be a perfect live bait for a bream!!! hahhahaah
  3. Hey rob You are a man of many talents... jew fishing one day, then squid and followed by a massive bag of fish off the stones. What is most impressive however is your ability to eat what looks to be 4kgs of squid? Plus your master rod "building" skills turning one piece rods into two piece travellers rods !!! Cheers Trung
  4. This is what an old chap at the tackle store said when he saw me browsing some hardbodies.... He said nothing catches fish like bait... What is bait i thought to myself.... Going by the the old fellows word, the below must be all an illusion! My new bream PB of 41cm on small cultiva,,, must be fake.. Flatties on plastics... fake.. Flatties on hardbodies... yup fake also... More fish on VX blade lures.... scam! More bream and flatties etc... yeap - thats right... must be photoshoped as lures surely is a marketing trick! A prawn on a lure? No! cant be true... Catch of the day? 20+ imaginary fish for the quick 3 hour session. I must be doing something wrong as these rubbish peices of plastic and metal are for fools.... oh! I might have to swing by the bait shop before I hit the georges river again! Anyone want to split a block of pillies! Cheers Trung
  5. Hey Pete I think you are right! I never noticed till you mentioned it... looking at the tail and the coloration of the fins the second "jew" does indeed look like a trag! Sharp set of eyes you have!! I cannot recall what the inside of the fish was as I gave the entire haul to my mum... I dot each much fish... I just like catching the darn thing! Trung
  6. 3 Jews is a fantastic haul... well done! I have never had any success on the Jews with yakkas and tailor ( preferring squid) ... You pinning the lives through the nose and how far down are you sending them? I guess ill be see you and the jewie spots from now on! See ya buddy!
  7. Hey Tony Great haul of squid ... bet it tasted tops! We got caught out with Foreshore ramp being full too and drove to Como ramp instead... ended up fishing around the area which resulted in a tank full of bream and flatties. Did a 30km round trip to the heads for 2 squid and caught ZERO jews with them! Hahahah! Always good to bump into you on the water... See ya out there tomorrow!
  8. The only people the cops were interested in was this mob in a blow up boat. They were cruising inside the yellow markers and when the cops came to have a "chat" they actually tried to do a runner!!!..... hahahah
  9. Now that is fishing.... hard to beat catching 1000s flatties in a session, and at those sizes it would have been amazing fun. You gotta love Botany Bay...
  10. Great catch boys... I can see a flood of ppl swamping the George's ( me included ) Thanks for the report
  11. All down to luck...right place @ the right time?
  12. [ It was just a $5 halco 15g slice... I do upgrade the hooks on all my metals. mmmmmm.... there may be money making venture here.... BBC Charters.. Tony... Have you tried the humble trav, bonnies, kings and yakkas sashimi ? If not you are missing out! ( add to the above platter sashimi squid......drool... ). I don't eat much fish but what I do eat is more or less sashimi only. Aussie salmon however = sh1t and these always go back... I don't even want to touch them cuz they smell that bad! Mate, we still need to hook up for a few sessions. Sorry but I have been a slack ar8e but let's make it happen soon. You can show me how to use bait and ill show you lures... Sorted! Speak soon. Trung
  13. Metal slices did all the damage that day... from bream to flatties to jews... throw away your soft plastics!I was too suprised when i pulled in the jews... they were just boofing the surface like a barra... there must have been a school working the surface as there were boofs everywhere This session was 2 weeks ago and conditions were perfect.. this weekend is gonna be sh1thouse - gonna stay home and watch Home and Away reruns. You better cut back on the chips/pepsi intake or you will get fat like me and have to end up going to the gym instead of fishing! As a sounder, the Furuno makes the Lowrance look like a toy! I do not use the HDS as a sounder anymore... its only duties is GPS + instrumentation which it does a decent job with. Both like happily side by side. BTW - thanks for those yakkas the other day... they were untouched on the downrigger but our only massive squid got smashed in 30 seconds... it was funny seeing a newbie getting OWNED by a big kingfish... he was getting punished all around the boat, the fish reefed him in the end but funny to watch! thanks mate - I think I have been taking more ppl out lately then Scotty L in his green boat! I need more good karma!
  14. Hi Raiders Been too busy eating chips, taking newbies out in my boat, drinking Pepsi, taking newbies out in my boat, watching swamp people, taking newbies out in my boat, getting fat and taking newbies out in my boat... and as a result have not posted a thing in weeks! Have fished mainly out to the Bay and Georges in recent weeks and it has been pretty sh1t... nothing special.... However one day that does stand out happened about 2 weeks ago.. Did solo trip as i have no friends and launched polycraft @ an early 9:30am... motored out from foreshore ramp no more than 100m when I saw a few birds flying overhead... bird = fish ? Switched on the little TV on dash and saw this! They turned out to a massive school/s of small pilchards... there were acres of them just below the surface.... small fish = bigger fish ? As they say , match the hatch and that's what i did.. out came the chrome slices and the fish started flying into the boat none stop of hours! Pilchard taking a surface metal lure! Or is that a metal taking a pilchard? Was getting normally "bottom dwelling" fish smashing the chrome lure worked quickly across the surface! (there were millions of pelagic too) Jews taking a surface metal lure! Flatties taking a surface metal lure! Thousands of Travs Millions of Salmon Trillions of Bonnies and more Jews! Even had a few bream on the metal slices! Great thing was there was hardly any "surface action" activity so all the boat leaving the ramp just zipped right past.. more or less had the entire patch of fish for myself for hours! If i stayed long enough i reckon i would have bagged out on every species of fish there... it was that plentiful! Took a few home for the family... Once my arms got tired I went and found plenty of squid too! All up it was a great day out in the Bay... all this in sight of the boat ramp! Everything caught on a SR201 + Stella 1000 loaded with 4lb... zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.. oh the fun... Now...back to eating some salt and vinegar chips + waste more money online on useless fishing gear... YUM an YUM Trung
  15. Love them.. they work great and I have caught hundreds of squid with the 1.8 and 2.5 sized ones in pink + the black colors. There are plenty of guys on these forums who use these jigs to great effect. Cheap to buy - I picked up 20 or so jigs at $3 each!!! Bargain! ( still prefer them Diawa MD jigs though!)
  16. That's some amazing looking fish... did you measure their lengths?
  17. hahahahahahhaahah!!! WOW thanks so much for sharing and your insight! It looks like you are already an expert at catching/locating squid in the Bay so there is no point in adding anymore!! Just seems odd to me that for someone who can catch squid "all year round" needs to keep pushing other Raiders to divulge more information about their squid spots as in your previous posts...mmmmm..... I also cannot recall you ever "sharing" a squid/fishing posts with us here... we would all love to see them. Anyway, dont forget about end of yarra bay, bare island and the rocks near the guy nudest beach..... all top squid spots and was easily found by using the "search" function within the forums. If people want more info they generally send a PM where I reply to everyone... sorry I do not like posting specifics in the open forums so 10 boats can rock up over the weekend in a 40sqm area !!! Enjoy! The silcon net are sh1thouse... way to heavy and plenty of drag also through the water just like the environets. The net itself is too shallow and big fish will not fit in.... I dropped a 85cm+ flatty last week because of this crap net. Im going back to the old school knotted nets.
  18. The squid were pulling so much drag I needed the gloves! . ..... also not a big fan of skin cancer... cover up mate
  19. Mate, you know you want to join the club ... You know you want some BBC also... don't knock it till you tried it! ... maybe a few times!! Hahahaha!!!
  20. Is good to see that you have gone fully black... now you both will never go back ... nice black fish there guys!
  21. Thanks for the first picture... now i know your squid spot! Going there tomorrow !!! Good work on the dollies.. they taste a treat.. yum!
  22. Frigates taste as good as aussie salmon i have been told!!! The flesh is a really dark red and very bloody... I will salt them up and feed some snapper or reefies if i ever head out !
  23. dont worry mate... the squid are in plague proportions atm... cockroach of the sea!! the only place I throw them is in the frypan or down the throat of Jewfish ! hahahah !!! Yup - DRed Molli for nothing... schools of leatherjackets near the point. See you out there soon
  24. Weekend... fishing! Took out fishraider newbie Joel to show him how I do things on the bay today and lets just say we SMASHED it ! (well I did anyway...... kidding...) Joel was from another forum and specialises in bream, bream and bream.... now he has learnt how to catch squid, flatties, frigates, long toms, squid, squid, flatties, squid, flatties, flatties, and squid. DHYPE Style... Slow start on the squid and only managed 2 medium squid at spot #1.... after 1 hour we moved to spot 2 and hit pay dirt! Over the next hour we managed some of the biggest squid I have ever landed in the bay... joel also gets a few including one almost as big as mine ( I told him mine was larger! hahahah)... Maccas size squids! Squid Master DRed the squid for jack inside the Bay so punched it out to the heads in search for kings... Joel found his breakfast coming up instead ... hahahah poor bastard!! While at the heads in washing machine like conditions we did come across a massive school of feeding frigate mackerals... we both landed a few speedster on lighty weighted plastic which was a loads of fun.. snapper bait anyone? zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz..... Back in claimer waters took him to my flathead spot to flick some plastics and I was right into my from the first cast. Joel dicked around with his 4000 lures but finally joined me with a shrimp pattern lure and flatties started fly overboard more or less non stop! We kept a few for the plate and I lost a big girl before the fish reached the net ( thanks Joel!!) An airbourn Long Tom that was after some prawn cocktails.. "I luv bubba gump shrimps" Joel part of the days catch... he looks semi-pleased Macca's new menu Wow... my wife is going to be cleaning for a while tonight !! hahahaaha Thanks for some great company today Joel... see .. there is more to life than just bream and skeeters!! There is no fish in the Bay so dont bother! ....Till next week... (Joel has promissed me he has forgot ALL the spots I took him today so don't bother asking/PM-ing him !!!! Hahahaha) Trung | DHYPE | BBC
