  5. well done mate sounds like u had a good day out pitty about the jews but least u got a feed!! im sure the jew will latch onto your livie soon enough just have to put the hours in!
  6. hay cam the sender unit is broken u should have a black plastic float on the shaft id say the screw came loose over time and its droped off, u can buy replacment sender units on the net good quality to. id drain the tank and try and get the rest of the bit out before installing new unit, good luck!
  7. with all this fresh water i would be fishing towards the mouth of botany. tends to drive them out from upstream like taren pt bridge or molly point but good luck with the crowds landbased. fresh caught squid will out fish any baits saying that ive caught 15+kg jews on yakka fillets.
  8. yeah mate what a top day it was out there 2 bad on the lost fish we landed most our fish on 80lb braid 100 lb leader with ease of the stella... didnt have same luck with jews only got one soapie around 70cm mark
  9. HAHA the photo's are terrible!! i did 72hours this week can see that! hay Nathan!! yeah was a great day out!! boats goin really well besides the fuel line which is a easy fix. rides like a dream and has plenty of grunt only have to rebuild the trailer when i find the time and will prolly keep her for a year and get something alittle bigger. cheers Andrew
  10. after been working night and day finally got a day out on the water since new year. being only across the road from port hacking its been torture! headed out to usuall squid spots filled the tank up with squid and motor wouldnt start fuel line i had just has exchanged due to first one being faulty had failed again so went back to old trusty. Fuming about 2x new fuel lines have now failed gona write into the company who makes them could of caused serious damage to our day if ignited. only a few boats around beuty! set the downrigger up and found a large school of kings covering whole screen first king is on just under 1m kept him for bbq and was mates turn to get one rigged him up set the downrigger and about 5m in front of us big long tom skipping across the water with a school of hoodlums chasing him so quickly downrigg over there and bang on again almost instantly stella is screeeming xzoga is bent right over awsome sight! as we motor out from the rocks with 10kg drag locked on landed it after a few blitzing runs in 20m of water decided to head after we used up all the squid with only 2 rats out of 8 fish. as we didnt have any ice and was warming up didnt wana ruin the fish so quickly picked up another 6 squid on the way in and decided to go for a jew 2nght and another king session 2morro try and make the most of my catch up fishing!
  11. finally getting out there 2morro kings and flathead hopefully on the menu

  17. well done guys sounds like u had a awsome day outwide good to see plenty of action 2x monster dollys if u can eat it all mike im only up the road haha
  18. hay peter i think i was at the ramp same time i was about to say hello but was unsure if it was u i had the black boat with blue bimini well done on a nice feed of fish as usual i geez it was a weiry feeling trying to find boat harbour by boat couldnt see a thing
  19. personally i would only use the bimini twist on lighter lines eg mono 15kg 24kg for game fishing if u are using braid id go for a wind on knot as braid has a higher breaking strain there for the bimini knot is not needed id join your leader using a slim beuty or Pr knot even albright
  20. different situiation dude game fishing is a different ball game especially without structure of a river contains with boats rocks shallow depths ect. This guys is trying to claim 1m king which looks about 60cm, a 1m king around yowie in 8m-15m of water is nearly impossible on 10lb with all the structure boats even if u tryed driving it out 10lb would ping in seconds, not saying its impossible but geez i would be buying a lotto ticket,
  21. haha gold i love ot how its says on 10 lb line all i have to say is
  22. i have never had a knot slip on the albright even on 6lb braid -4lb leader i have even used it on a 80lb set up with 100lb leader and never had any drama's i wrap it 12 times and well lube it when pulling it tight once using locked drag to tighten it 51lb drag pressure once its 100% tight i use a dab of super glue let it set and trim,
  23. no worrys tryed port fad saturday and had no luck although i was out later i would try through the week so there is less chance of other boats spooking them.
  24. basic rig i use just 20lb braid connected to a bb swivel 1m of 30lb leader no sinker and a 6/0 circle for livies. always have enough leader to your hook as they tend to chew up the leader. just cast a livie and hold on they are fun when they are hot on the bite often have at least 5 at a time chasing the livie
  25. haha not hard to break the bank balance on a good set up and fishing gear boat ect, most exspensive combo i have is stella on xzoga retail about $1,600 including 80lb braid i have about 30 combo's (a whole room in my 3x bedroom house is just fishing gear) i tend to not spend to much on the boat as long as its reliable. i just cant justify buying a new boat. my 15ft boat owes me 6k. a new boat is 25-30k. i generally rebuild a older solid boat to suit my fishing needs.
