  2. Hi mate, my name is James and I would love to go out for a fish with you sometime in sydney harbour, i also love meeting new raiders, and have already made a few good friends through the site. If you'd like to meet up and go for a fish sometime i'd be more than happy to take you out I have a 12ft tinny with an old evinrude 15, but my dad's got a bigger boat which i could probably take out some time. I recently spent about 150 bucks on packets of plastics, but would like somebody with some knowledge to show me how to use them better. I'm having some success but not as much as i would like. I am also just starting to get into the hardbody scene. PM me if you're interested? Cheers, James
  3. that's what i was thinking, rather than pay exorbedent amounts of money for the frozen ones at the servo.
  4. i got no idea mate, but id love to be able to get a few myself, if you're happy to pm me where you got them or something? cos im forking out some serious money at the moment on pillies. cheers, James
  5. victorious! unfortuately my dad only put on 5 dollars for me, so i got $47, which is going straight into the petrol tank of the boat. James
  6. seems like all raiders are thinking like me i put shocking on to win, alcopop for a place, and Newport as the outsider. (Dono how newport will actualy go, but because we bought a new house and are moving to newport in the next month or so, i just couldnt look past it ) Cheers, James
  7. hi mate, i heard that the place in narrabeen does yamahas but my mate took his boat there once and said they were no good, highly overpriced and not a great job done on his motor. i'd give Huey a go cheers, James
  8. definatly not a cane toad mate, i got about 5 dozen of them living in my pond in the backyard, hear them all night every night. cute little things cheers James
  9. Hi Richard, im stayin down there around the same time as Jack, and i got a 560 quinnie spirit. So you think that murrays ramp is the go? Is that on the same side of the bay as Vincentia? Thanks mate, James
  10. i haven't really had much experience with daiwa's ive just always been a shimano man, because being 15, i'm looking for the best reel for the least money, and with reels like sedona's, symetre's etc i just keep on buying them cheers James
  11. where abouts in sydney do you intend on targetting the kings? i catch all my kings (not a lot) on either my 6-8kg spin rod with sedona 4000 and 20pld braid or my 11-13kg overhead with contender G20L overhead with 40pld braid. They have done the job for me no worries, although ive never been hooked onto a hoodlum, where can i find hoodlums in sydney anyway? i'd love to know haha. cheers James
  12. hey jack, im heading down to vincentia in the next month or so as well, with a friend and we're takin my boat, a 560 quinnie spirit. i might see you down there at some stage? id love to target the kings as well. cheers James
  13. hi mate, i've got an old 6hp evinrude that i was having troubles with and eventually gave up on, it seemd to be continuously losing revs when in gear, but it would always start first pull and never stalled or anything, just wouldnt get up to max. revs. i bought a new motor, so its now sitting in my garage gathering dust, and i havent started it for about 8 months, but im sure it would start up again, or at least be good for parts. send me a pm if your interested, we could probably sort something out. cheers James
  14. i've heard of it before but it would be hard work, they catch sailfish at the rowley shoals on jetskis sometimes.
  15. holy jesus, they are some serious kingfish looks like heaven to me cheers James
  16. yeah mate theres plenty of bream if you use the right gear and fish the right tides. cabarita wharf has been a major producer for me, but be careful of the staff from the marina, they dont like you fishing there cheers James
  17. bad luck mate, at least you got out there and had a go, while SOME of us were at school seems like you tried everything, i would have tried a live squid though if i had some cheers James
  18. Im heading down there tomorow for my footy team's 'end of season celebration', my mate's dad has got 2 jetskis and a ski boat so we will be burning some serious petrol for the next 3 days, not too sure if i will get any fishing in but we will see. If anybody does plan on wetting a line down there this weekend i would recommend that you dont do so if you see us in the vicinity, i doubt the fish would hang around there. We'd be pretty hard to miss, 18 boys all my age (15), and 3 dads. Should be great fun, but yeah ive never been to wiseman's ferry but according to the dad who owns the boat its more of a skiers/speed freaks/petrol head's playground than a fishermans? I dono.. Cheers, James
  19. good stuff mate, did u actually get any kings in the end? you said u went to chase them but mentioned nothing afterwards, i assume u were unsuccessful then? cheers James
  20. I went ok mate, got a couple of bream around the marina at cabarita and under the bridge back up towards silverwater etc. Also a couple of tailor and stuff, it was a nice day out. cheers James
  21. cheers mate we will give it a shot. any particular method for targetting the kings/tailor? anybody else got any info ? thanks again James
  22. Hi guys, I'm headin up to port stephens with a mate tomrow until tuesday and we are keen to get into a bit of landbased fishing while we're up there (can't tow the tinny up, havent got a trailer) and were wondering if anybody could give us some pointers in regards to the better producing areas? We are keen to give the blackfishing a go if there's any up there, and also want to have a go at beach fishing. I heard a rumour that some people got some rat kings off the breakwall at nelson bay? All help and pointers would be greatly appreciated so we have some idea as to where we're goin. We are stayin in Fingle (Fingal?) bay and would probably fish the nelson bay, anna bay, salamander, soldiers point areas etc etc. Thanks again all, James
  23. mate next time wait until they're cooked before eating, they taste betteer good job gettin squid on plastics? ive never heard of it before cheers James
  24. love the facial expression you pull with that red in your hands if you ever need a 15 year old deckie who's keen as mustard to get out on that absolute beauty of a boat you got there, then im your man cheers mate James
  25. couldnt have put it much better myself, ive lived in gladesville all my life and have put back every fish ive caught out of fear of my gonads glowing green or some other deformation occuring from those fish parents have just bought a new house in newport recently so im so excited to move up there and actually have the option of keeping and eating the fish i catch when i need some for dinner cheers James
