  1. not sure if this will work, pre paid internet sucks cheers hodgey
  2. i thought gropers are a protected species?
  3. being a student, every weekend is a long weekend, lol. but seriously, im going fishing right now. blackfish here i come.
  4. basically same thing, rips lead to gutters, and surf creates banks which then create rips and gutters. Their formed by the water being pushed in by waves having to escape back out. the water moves sand, making a channel or gutter
  5. i dont imagine the fillets would be very meaty... no loss it being protected
  6. Went down to avoca lagoon (North avoca side) n flicked a sp around this morning. hooked up to what i guess are a few mullet but i couldnt land any..... dont know why.. next time u go down ray or mercer give me a pm n i'll join.
  7. if u zoom up close u can see the darker patches running out from the beach. on blueys theres 2 between the north rocks and samuel st. plus off the rocks wouldnt hurt (unless theres big swell n u get washed off, that would hurt) or just look where the waves arnt breaking and there no white wash (or limited)
  8. plus alveys just dont break. i recently found my old alveys, which an elderly neighbour gave me some 10 years ago after her husband died, in my dads garage. they were covered in sand, salt and watever else had grown on them... took them apart, gave a quick service and some modifications and they work a dream. i use one for blackfishing now.
  9. i llooooovvee guitar hero. finished on hard in like 2 days. onto expert now. im thinking of just gettin an average fishin game on wii, just to make the rainy days go by. call of duty is pretty good, but the gun controller thing takes a while to get used to.
  10. thats looks fun. was contemplating fishing this morning but when i woke up it was pouring with rain... drats. turns out avoca n terrigal have different weather patterns
  11. uve inspired me to have a crack at the mullet in tez lagoon, next to the bridge on willoughby rd ray. i'll fill ya'll in, when i do.
  12. if u do head up and the swell is big you should try the lagoons as ray said, or try the terrigal haven. when theres big swell, there plenty of blackfish, bream, flathead and its safe (as long as ur not right on the point)
  13. there not meant to stay open though, there not an estuary so to speak. its only due to property damage/infrastructure damage that they do open the lagoons. i dont think nature intended on excavators moving the sand, so the lagoons can empty
  14. you could see the large swell on the horizon fishing infront of the skillion (rock/ocean front) this morning... wind continues to pick up also
  15. that looks sweet... im thinking of starting to do abit of yak fishing
  16. the open the lagoon up when the rain water makes it high n it threatens property, its pretty common up here as theres a few lagoons around.
  17. would jewfish hang about in the gutter formed by the water exiting the lake? cause when they let terrigal lagoon out i always think about throwing a bait or big sp minnow in there, n trying for a jewy. our local council arnt the best at catchment/estuary management, evident by avoca lagoon, terrigal lagoon, wamberal lagoon, brisbane water etc etc etc. the stationaries are fun to ride though, until u get bombarded with rubbish from the lagoon.
  18. master another type of fishing, n practice in ur pool... eg. fly fishing
  19. houseboaters are the worst. they get annoyed if a tiny tiny wash gets them. but meh, houseboats are slow n occupants are usually quite old so theres no reprecussions
  20. im in terrigal, so i usually just go down under the skillion or around from terrigal point. been meaning to go down to avoca n have a spin
  21. Hi all, im new to the site. good forum u got going here. Anyone here from the central coast? thanks
