  1. GREAT session fellas.... I always failed to land trout on sunny days, maybe because i only use lures... Nice looking fish as well...
  2. Nice work fellas... You went with the best Meh.... Stewy loves his Cooks
  3. Hey Johnny, apologies just been flat out at work... Ill give you a buzz soon... I havent had a Jewie on the end of the line for a while... Talk soon....
  4. Thanks fellas, it was freezing.... So cold i had to put my hands in my pockets every 5-10 minutes to warm them up....
  5. WELL its been ages since i went for a flick... As a result the family and friends organised the Long Weekend for a flick at Eucumbene & Jindabyne chasing trout.... My brother and I, along with my mate Daniel (srm150d), were on the hunt for trout while the rest of the family went for a skii... First day we arrived at lake Eucumbene, it was very windy, freezing cold weather, overcast and the team moral was down... Being Daniels first trout experience he managed to pull in x2 trout within a matter of 10min on powerbait... Beginners luck i guess.. My brother and i tried flicking BUT it was useless... Too windy... We stayed for a couple of hours, froze ourselves and a decision was made to check in and warm up next to the fireplace... That evening weather turned out to be friendly, at East Jindabyne where we stayed, so i decided to go for a flick in front of the house during sunset... Casting my favourite hard bodies lures nothing seemed to work... I made a promise to my brother and Daniel, that i am determined to catch a trout on a plastic lure, as ive never managed before... As a result i wacked on a 5cm paddle tail and 5th cast i was on... The 2-4kg rod bent to the floor, 1000 reel done its magic, and thanks to Purefishing for the supply of 4lb Fireline Exceed (best braid ive used so far) i managed to skull drag this beauty on a bed of rocks, since someone forgot to bring a net.... Measured 56cm, it was a fat healthy brown... NEW PB, and the first and ONLY trout caught on plastic... That night we smoked most of catch and fed the tribe, who were dying of hunger from all that skiing... Following morning we woke up at 4am, had a big feed and hit the Jindabyne Lake... Once again being a cold morning, we arrived at our spot while it was still dark... My brother was the first one to cast and was on immediately. Unfortunately the trout had a spirited run, wrapped itself around weed/tree trunk, the line snapped and foul language echoed the early quiet morning... I wacked on my trusty hard bodied lure and 5 minutes later i was on.... A nice healthy Rainbow that put a great fight and spooked the rest of the fish, as it jumped 5-6 times out of the water.... That night my brother got sick, ended up staying indoors for the rest of the trip and left home early then expected... In total we ended up catching x2 Brown trout, x1 Salmon which was released and x11 Rainbow trout...
  6. WELL done mate.... THATS a cracker.... JEALOUS
  7. NICE, thanks for that.... Their aggression sounds like the fish from my home land.... I like that....
  8. WELL done fellas... The fish look great, the weather on the other hand looks nasty... Congrats on the new PB trout.... Its a ripper...
  9. MATE well done some nice fat cod.... The area looks stunning.... Like Stewy i am a cod virgin BUT im sure you will pop my cherry Well done.... How big were the hard bodied lures, they look massive??
  10. WOW what can i say... It was a great weekend away, nice to put some faces to the Fishraider Usernames... BIG thank you to Donna and Stewy for organising YET another successful Social... ALSO a big thank you to the sponsor PUREFISHING.... I will put the new braid to good use and score some new PBs (fingers crossed)... Dan and i had a ball tenting..... Nothing better then fishing, drinking, outdoor BBQs, with a group of new friends... First night was a success with everyone pulling out Taylors... Roberta was on FIRE, pulling out a monster flatty with endless Taylors off the beach.... Everyone started to become jealous... Along with Stewy i put the hours into catching my first Jew of the beach BUT was greeted with this scavenger... My heart skipped a beat once i saw the rod bend... It was so COLD, i decided to pack up, warm up with a few brandy shots and headed out to catch some flatties... In over an hour, managed to score half a dozen flatties.... Following morning Dan being NEW to flicking soft plastics, score his first Flatty of the beach... That afternoon the big Sambo put up a good fight and tested the light gear to its limit.... Before we left The Entrance we decided to have a few final flicks.... Managed to score over a DOZEN flatties in around an hour.... GREAT fun.... I had a grounp of Jap Tourists cheering me on, everytime i reel in a fish.... Pretty funny....
  11. WOW great report.... YET again.... Love those photos... Keep it up...
  12. MICK lets organise a trip targeting COD.... NEVER caught one... With you, you are my lucky charm in cracking NEW pb's
  13. WELL done, great report.... NOW it’s time for you to crack the 1m mark BTW do to cod that you caught around the 50cm mark, put up a reasonable fight.... NEVER target cod let alone caught one.... What gear where you using??
  14. Overcast, average 20km/h winds, chance of rain here and there, perfect weather for Jewies.... I will be there around 4ish to set up the tent, which will give me enought time to drop the line in prior to sunset around 5:40pm...
  15. GOOD point Donna Its called a Social for a reason.... My mate and I have booked a camp site (pitching up a tent).... We will see you on Friday late lunchtime... Plan is to get the beach rods, hook on some fresh squid, and cast it into the surf sitting in chairs, watching the sunset. Havent been BAIT FISHING in ages.... Cant wait....
  16. EXCELLENT, let me know if a spare spot comes up. Thank You.
  17. Anyone have room on their boat for me to join, and be part of their team during the Social?? Got my gear, more then happy to chip in for fuel. Let me know via PM. Cheers, Joey.
  18. DONT tell everyone my secret.... $70/bottle it better work.... By the way, thanks everyone, i could not have done it without iMick...
  19. WELL i had the great pleasure of joining iMick for a flick at our local waters.... Mick promised me a Wild Bass... We were on a mission.... As a result we hit the water early and went to Liverpool Weir.... One cast after next, no results, Mick promised me a bass and the pressure was on.... I must have changed a dozen lures, and all of a sudden BANG, the reel starts screaming.... After a short fight, brining the fish to the surface proved to be tough... There was a lot of weight... ALL excited thinking its a BASS, i managed to catch a cracker of a flatty at 55cm..... A bit disappointing i guess, but still, a fish is a fish.. I guess i was surprised to catch a flatty all this way up the river, where the water is fresh with minimal/no salinity... Loved the dark colours on that flatty (obviously a local)... Release to fight another day.... Few casts later, changing my retrieving technique, i get a big hit, the reel goes off and it spits out the lure... NOOOOOO!!!! Cast after that in the same spot, once again the reel goes off. Spat me out again!!! DAMMMMM.... Third cast and it was on, the paddle tail off ALL lures got cracked, the reel screamed, there was a lot of excitement on the boat... The fish did not want to come to the surface to be netted, kept on going down... All of a sudden it revealed itself.... Cracker of a bass if you ask me... It was a BASS, my new PB at 41.5cm.... DIDN'T expect such a big BASS.... Great looking fish... Caught on a 4kg rod, 1000 reel, 6lb braid.... Release to fight another day... After that we managed to score a couple more, BUT no where close in size as the first one.... We then headed out to catch some EP & Bream and the occasional Flatties. We managed to score a good dozen bream and EP's, and half a dozen of flatties... After that we TRIED our luck with catching some Jewies on plastics.... Working the banks during the LOW TIDE, i knew the odds were against us, since it was sunny... We managed to find a nice hole, where we must have flicked a dozen times and got smoked on every cast.... Teeth marks left in the plastics, chunks of the lure missing, reels going off, BUT we failed to set the hooks.... On one occasion once we got some shade from the clouds, i got smacked and all excited waiting for that initial run, well that didn't happen, ended up being a flatty We had a cracker of a day.... BIG THANKS to iMick for a great day out.... HOPE to do it all again soon...
