I have 2 Capricorn 1500's, cant fault them!

Decided to lure fish the flats towards Crosslands from Berowra,perfect conditions but very few fish. A handfull of Flathead and a Silver Biddy, NO Bream! Had one nice Flathead to the boat only to have the SP fly out of his mouth, he couldn't believe it either, just stayed there wondering? So I quickly droped the Sp back in, to his side and slightly behind him, didn't matter he swallowed it in a flash, turned and ran biting through the 4 lb leader! What a buzz!!! Howard.

Launched at Akuna Bay around 5 15 am and trolled from Lords bay down to Smiths Creek and all the way into the creek at the end. Had 2 small Stump Jumper hard bodied lures down 2 meters and 2, 10 grm raiders on the surface. 1 raider went missing, the line was frayed for about 6 inches! and that was it! Saw the occasional splash on the surface, actually there would be 2 splashes then nothing more, and a small shark crusing the surface around the mouth of Smiths Creek. Used the electric in an attempt to get a cast at them and managed it once, but to no avail. They did not act like Tailor I have caught down there in the past! Pumped some Yabbies and fished a few bays for 1, 35 cm Whiting and heaps of small ones, jnr caught a Silver Biddy and a few small Whiting. Nearly got swamped by a huge cruser which came from behind VERY quickly in an 8 knot zone, ended up with a foot of water in the bottom of the boat, of course he didn't even look back Apart from that we had a great day! No one willing to stick their neck out? I have been pushing my luck, If i have an 8 lb leader and 4 lb fireline, i have been treating it as 8 lb line and using around 4 to 6 lb of drag. I have been hoping that the 4 lb Fireline would stand up to higher breaking strain! So far so good! Howard.

Hi all, It is well known that Fireline breaks at about double it's claimed breaking strain, so what do you do if you are using 4 lb fireline and 8 lb leader? Do you treat it as 4 lb line, or 8 lb when setting drag pressure? Howard.

After 5 months I finally got my motor back today with a new prop, prop and shift rod oil seals! But now I'm faced with no super fuel for it, do I just go to unleaded? It's a merc around 23 Years old! Thanks Howard!

I love the 6500, a serious alternative to an overhead. I love fishing with them! How does it go with 15 kg ? Howard.

Vanish gets a hammering around the traps for it's knot strength, more so than any other brand by a long shot!!!!!! makes you wonder??? I have had a few break testing them after tying, on 15 lb test. My knots never break! I have since lost the spool, might try somthing else. Vanish has a good reputation for it's invisability, thats why I bought it. How do the other brands stack up in this regard? I have the same one Rodf is talking about from Bias in it's own carry case, and cig lighter socket on the side. So easy to use, plug the sounder in when fishing, and the charger at home! never open the case, the charger is a Smart charger so you just plug it in and leave it!

Valvoline! I also use it in my brush cutters and blowers, No Problems! Looked at buying in bulk, but found it just as cheep to buy 5 ltrs from Big W!!!!

Now don't tell me that if you had 15, you wouldn't use it !!!!!!!! 15 will let you do the same speed with 3 on board as you do now with 2, then the welds in your boat will start to crack, like mine!!!!!!!! Regards Howard! Ps, public liability and insurance could be a issue as well!
