You need to learn to Duck sometimes when fly fishing! DON'T use your wrist, hold the rod as if you are giving the thumbs up, press down with your thumb and wrist so you can't use your wrist! use your forearm to cast! Otherwise you will loose strength and controle! Howard

To start with probably only Fishraiders on the Hawksbury, or if I get a bit adventurous up north in the future. Not realy off shore at all!

What to get? in an open tinny a hand held may be more convenient, no arial, but what about range. They are only 1 watt compared to 4 in the larger units? Howard.

Have a 2.7 ltr 2 wd hilux towing around 1 ton. I do a lot of clutch slipping on steep slopes! 1 st gear is way too high for a work vehicle! no problem once your moving. Howard.

Have often seen small Hammerheads crusing that area, have caught a few too! About a meter long, quite capable of a bite like that! Howard.

Thanks Beefaman, The price difference is not a concern, how Quiet they are in comparison is the burning question, and is it worth 5 hp? The boat is rated 15 to 25.

In the next few weeks i will be buying a 385 quintrex explorer. The BIG question is what to put on it? I need to be able to lift it on and off so have a 50 kg weight limit. The contenders are: 20 hp 4 stroke Honda or 25 hp 2 stroke Yamaha Both are around 50 kg How much quieter is the 4 stroke, is it worth dropping 5 hp for it? Thanks Howard!
