  1. Wife and I decided to start going squidding again tonight, with a new spot in mind we made our way. Not long after we got there my wife starts the ball rolling with a perfect bait size squid (can't wait for Friday nights Jewy session). We were there for about an hour with not much happening and my wife decides to move, so i followed, what a great decision! About the third cast out something latches on and it was fighting, my Light T-Curve/Stella Combo was getting excited. I thought naaaahhhh it cant be weed its fighting back, and if it ain't weed whatever it is it's a stonker. After a short but exciting fight and with my wife with net in hand next to me I pulled it up. Measured 40cm to the mantle, and a great way to end the night. Fresh Salt and Pepper Squid for dinner tomorrow night!
  2. Well done guys, entertaining bit of footage there. Keep it up.
  3. Im not into politics by any means but Tony Abbott wanting to stop all these marine park proposals tells me he has at least half a brain and he'll be getting my vote.
  4. Congratulations to everyone involved. Good to see muchly appreciated innovation being applied.
  5. Looking at investing into a Jigging Master Three Kings Medium Spin Rod and either a 18000 or 20000 Shimano Stella. I know the 18000 would be better suited for jigging, but want a reel as an all round deep blue reel. Advice on the pro's and con's on either would be appreciated.
  6. In bed wiith the flu.

  7. Good report. Good to see the young fella had great time and it's something he'll be talking about for years to come.
  8. Good resemblemce to yourself Mike!!!!! Get anything else out there?
  9. I used automotive 38mm fuel hose on my boat with a few stainless bend adaptors due to the location between the filler and the tand. So far so good.

That'll be my excuse when i come home with a new one!
  11. Well done guys. Know the feeling of losing expensive anchors and chain.
  12. Good work Nathan,i went through it all a couple of years ago. If I knew then what i know now i would have just bought a whole new trailer. Believe me, now spend a hour at the boat ramp adjusting your rollers to make launching and retrieving as easy as possible.
  13. Credit to you on letting her go.

    Project Boat

I've always anchored from the from, yeah sure if the winds against me I might anchor up on the sides, but in all my years of boating and fishing i get the best results with the back of the boat going with the current. Each to their own i guess.

One of the best investments you should make is replacing you current windscreen with a 5 piece one. When it comes time to anchor/retrieve you'll thank me every time.
  16. Thank kingie would have been fun if you were fishing on light gear. Great haul. Well done.
  17. Great report. Gotta be happy with that off the rocks.
  18. Expect to pay $500-1500 for a custom made one.
  19. Great report Gary. Your one very lucky man.
  20. Driving down the coast today see a sign which got me very excited , thought this can't be be true, why would anyone want to live anywhere else! Unfortunaley not is all what it seems. Nice quiet little town, would buy a house there because of the suburb's name its in. Fortunately its surrounded by water and you wouldn't have to drive far to find "Paradise"!
  21. Im all for weird and crazy people, but that photo looks a bit "edited" to me.
  22. Unfortunately it sounds like more lives have been lost today to rock fishing. Read report below. http://www.news.com.au/breaking-news/one-dead-three-missing-from-rock-fishing-group/story-e6frfku0-1225864695981
  23. I like you invested sensibly in my first boat a few years ago. Throughout it has reminded me of my younger years with cars, pooring money into her to make things "better", even though it wasn't neccesary!!!
