  1. Quick Report: Ventured outside Botany Bay yesterday morning for what should have been a great day on the water. Morning was cold, windy, choppy and you could not see 50 metres in front of you. Was a ordinary day jigging but still managed this 14kg, 130cm beauty.
  2. Been reading about it all morning Hodgey. Some reports say that none of them were wearing life jackets.
  3. Great report Ray. Stonker Jew and barra.
  4. Many of you may not know but I became a very proud father to identical twin girls (aka iTwins) three and a half months ago. There was no way in the world this boating/fishing obsessed father was going to have his beautiful girls miss out on the action. Before they even came home from hospital I went out and bought their very own fishing rods and tackle boxes. The other day I rang up Stormy and got them to send me out two of their "Baby Stormy lifejackets". Their still just a bit too small to fit into them, but won't be an issue come summer.
  5. Just have a look at them all! http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/feral-carp-carpet-our-rivers-in-the-murray-darling-river-system/story-e6freuy9-1226146044712

    Squid

Let me guess, salt and pepper squid for dinner that night!!
  7. I was one of these guys that tried to tuff it out whenever we went off shore, but after using the (ET) pills, there's no turning back. Best thing I ever did.
  8. Know it wasnt an easy call to make. Your Safety before satisfaction approach is to be commended.
  9. I personally know Paul and Melinda who own Evolution. I spent a full day there watching how they make their boats. Let me assure you, you get what you pay for. Top Shelf Boats.
  10. A bad days fishing is better than a good day at work, thats my motto. At least you got out there and i know the feeling of being so closely surrounded by whales, money cant buy that experience.
  11. Yeah Jim, jigging. But not in our usual spot. A couple of times we got tangled pretty bad so I have a feeling the line was fraid. Must admit my drag was pretty tight so that would not have helped.
  12. Been hanging to christen the new JM Three Kings Special/Stella 10000 outfit and couldn't have picked a better weekend. Weren't out long before the fat 80cm one was landed, then it was a mixed bag for the test of the day. Lost two stonkers, which I'd care to forget! Very impressed with my new gear, now just need to hook a magic metre kingy.
  13. Awesome footage. Usually when you see things like and by the time you get the camera out, it's over. You were in the right place at the right time.
  14. Count me in. Lets hope the weather is better then last years event.
  15. I've got a 15ft Cruisecraft Rapide V15, I recently put a Johnson 90HP of the back, bigger fuel tank, etc. Got confidence in the boat, just not myself!
  16. Do you or have you owned your own boat and have experience going off shore?
  17. Great report and day out Groper. Enjoy reading stories when mums/dads take their kids out for a fish.
  18. Thanks tide'n'knots for taking my record away from me!!! Well done. I'll do my best next season to get it back, will be tuff at 112mm.
  19. I use 250g jigs and get them to the bottom of 150+ metre water quite quickly. Just a tip, if your fishing in waters that are known for jackets don't go buying $30-$50 jigs as you may turn out to have an expensive day out. I can go through up to 10 jigs if the jackets are around.
  20. After years of borrowing/begging jigging equiptment I went out and bought myself a Stella 10000 and a Jigging Master Three Kings Special. Now my problem is that im not comfortable taking my boat out to the hostspots, so im looking to join anyone out there who go's out for a jig. I have all my own gear, done it plenty of times before, very easy to get along with and pretty entertaining if I do say so myself. More than happy to chip in for fuel, help with clean up, etc. If you've got a spot, I'll take it, just PM me and we'll take it from there.
  21. Just a courteous post to inform anyone who used to use the St George Motor Boat Club ramp illegally, that things have changed there. There are boom gates there now and unless you have a tag issued by the club you won't be able to use the ramp. Im letting everyone know because when i was there yesterday morning at 5am the gates were up and there was a guy using the ramp, i asked him if he was issued with a tag, he said he'd been using the ramp for years without any dramas. Well suffice to say upon my return the gates were down and would have created a real drama for anyone who used the ramp without any knowledge of whats going on.
  22. Just entered the Pirtek Fishing Challenge. Can't wait.
