  1. Just old fashioned withches hat style traps. Because there was three of us we put 15 traps out. The secret is the bait that attracted them!
  2. Here's the rest of his mates that we caught yesterday which will be joining him for us to feast on tonight.
  3. Went out with my unofficial brothers Nick and Beasley yesterday morning for a crab session in Botany Bay. We were in the water by 5.30am and sensed it was going to be a good day, singing "i gotta feeling" most of the morning. The bait was out and all we could do was wait. Well wasn't much of a waiting game,(thank god as im the most impatient bloke) as they were on immediately. Over the next three hour we got 27 crabs, including this stonker which i believe is a record equalling for here. He didn't give us too much greif pulling him up and we knew there was something special about him. He measures 110mm from front to back and weighed in at 800 grams. Good to see the bay still has its moments with everything thats been going on with the desal plant and now the construction of the third container terminal.
  4. Happy Birthday Ray. All the best.
  5. I was out yesterday myself, very quiet day. I tried a new spot for yakka's and hit the jackpot. No kingies, but at least getting livies won't be as painful anymore.

    Bella Boats

Hi all, The wife and I have been looking to add to our collection of boats now for a while and came across Bella Boats at the Rosehill Boat Show today. We have been looking for something that will fit both fishing (for me and the boys) and family outing (when im not fishing!) style for a while now and this thing came the closest we have ever come across. We were looking at the 21ft model and its an excellent boat for its price, with all the bling and extra's under $75K. Does anyone own one on here or know of them as your feedback would be appreciated.

    Battery Chargers

I just bought a new Projecta Battery Charger, you put in what type of battery you have and its designed to charge it. I have a calcium and a deep cycle so it saved me from buying two different types of charges. PM me if you want more info.
  8. Thats a stonker, great catch. I swear by my 5" Jerk Shad Nuclear Chicken!!! Well done.
  9. Well done gents, can't ask for a better start than that to the day. Keep me in mind next time your going out whether it be morning, noon or night.
  10. Well done Jim. Lets see fisheries try and tell you their undersized!!! Wouldn't mind meeting up with you some time and going for a fish. Been out with Mick (Fishbones), speaks very highly of you.
  11. Normally the better LED globes aren't far off the price off new LED units anyway. A bit more work to install but the proper LED ones out perform replacement globes by a mile.
  12. I love it when on your first cast you hook up something. Its a pretty good feeling but then it gives you high expectations for the rest of the day. Well done on both days, you got a pretty good feed out of it.
  13. I ummed and ahhed over both of these for months. In the end bought a Stella. Haven't looked back. Well worth the extra layout.
  14. Congratulations on the facelift to everyone involved. After "visiting" other forums while Fishraider was down, i believe this one to be the best around (even before the changes) and im very proud in remaining loyal to my first and only fishing forum membership!
  15. Fishraiders, Just read this and remember reading and posting in regards to what happen to Jim 77 http://fishraider.com.au/Invision/index.php?showtopic=45093 This was in todays paper: http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/travel/sm...r-1225828481958 I would like to personally thank Jim for taking the time and effort and doing something about this, as most of us try and do the right thing. The authorities should be targetting the "cowboys" out there, not us guys and girls who clearly love and respect our sport. Heres to you Jim.
  16. I have put up a post regarding my new screen fitted a few months ago. Do a search and if you cant find it PM me and i'll give you some more details.
  17. Great report Pete. Enjoyable read.
  18. Hi fellow Raiders, I have a number of Ravia Fishing Rod Holders on my boat which could do with new inserts, there about three inches in diameter by about five inches in length. I have looked all over the internet for distributors, retailers, ANYONE that knows anything about them, but have had no luck. I know i could just go out and buy all new type/style, but these have character! If anyone could point me in the right direction as to where i could find them or have something made, it would be greatly appreciated. PS: Just completed my live bait tank and will put a report up once it has been test driven!
  19. I just got 2 T Curve Rods with 2500 and 4000 Stella's on them. Any improvements in the new ones or just bling? When are they expected to be released because my tackle supply guy knows nothing about them?
  20. Good on ya for helping those guys out. I like hearing of people helping each other out on the water, just wish more people knew of the unwritten rules of the water.
  21. Excellent report buddy. You'll have your own Fishing Show on TV before you now it.
  22. Great report. Top lizard also. Well done.
  23. At least you got to experience the fight and know to look foward to twice the battle when a big when comes along!
  24. Good luck with the Kingys tomorrow in Botany Bay. Their there just not in the usual spots and most are undersized. Keep us posted of your weekend.
  25. We went Tuesday and Wednesday night. Tuesday, very hard getting yakkas where we would normally get lots, only ended up with a couple before the wife feels shes not feeling well (thats why i've named her Captin Snooze, she just goes to sleep!). Had a couple of livies, went to our spot, within 5 minutes of dropping it hooked what i though was a kingfish, turned out to be a 60cm flattie, made my night worthwile. We would have been in the water for about an hour in total, then called it a night. Last night went out with my mate Peter and he'd been hit with the funny stick (only he finds himself funny), again had difficulties getting yakkas, went around to our spot, and nothing for the entire time we were there. I too would love to know what/how all that foam is from where their dredging from @ Port Botany?
