    Trag

Hi Barcrusher, Fished out of Broken Bay,, off Coogee wide of the wedding cake island used to be known as the Coogee Trag grounds, haven't fished there for them but a lot of old timers I know used to fish there for them every year when they were about. Squidy

Not wrong MacAttack, having some as I type. A lot of people rate them better to eat than Jew. Squidy

    Trag

Fished out of broken bay on Saturday afternoon and how good were the conditions, the wind completely dropped off several miles out to sea. Found a few flatties before we moved to our mark and set up for the evening. Straight away we into the Trag and they were hitting all baits. Live yakkas, squid heads, squid strips even chunks of frozen tuna. Ended up bagging out and left them biting. Great way to end a great day. Squidy
  6. The best flathead bait is strips of flatheas, always cut the first one up for bait.
  7. Hi Bardi, Not sure whats doing off Cronulla however the current around Longreef has been running fairly hard to the South, this was as late as Thursday afternoon/evening. Squidy
  8. Police were also out Thursday night doing full safety checks which I am happy to see. I even passed
  9. Hi Rob, We meet several months ago as I was launching my yak at the sailing club, congrats on the Jew and he flatties.. There has been quite a few Jew around the bridge of late. Have been out several times within the last week and picked up 4 one on platic and three on a vibe which was good as this was the first time i have used vibes. Hope to catch up again soon. Stewart
  10. I totally agree with an increase in size to at least 80cm as this will give hem a chance to bred. I might have the state wrong but I'm pretty sure the legal limit in Vic is 75cm. Squidy
  11. Hi Rob, Yeh that was me, ended up being nice out there after all the boats stopped coming thru and your right I will be back there again. You should give the area a go with the poddies you catch there are some decent flathead around the bridge at times. Hopefully we can catch up for a session sometime. Stewart
  12. Didn't size him but around 70 cm would be a fair guide
  13. Purchased myself a Hobie Revolution for christmas and decided to put the yak in yesterday afternoon, 45 minutes of trying to get some livies resulted in 1 yakka. As the runout tided slowed pinned the yakka with a circle hook and slowly moved around the pylons. Just on 6pm the baitrunner came to life with theat sound we all like to hear. I must admit to a bit of chaos as this was the first decent fish on the yak, combined with the pylons, current and a few mooring lines. Finally had the fish to the side of the yak, no hand gaffe (need to remember to get one) but noticed the fish was well pinned in the corner of the mouth so i lifted him aboard. Nice way to break in the yak. Squidy
  14. I beieve there is a place on the centeral coast that has stocked its dams with a variety of fish. A bloke who comes into my work has spoken about it. When i see him next i will post the details. Squidy
  15. Hi Rich, Headed out last night, lost one jew on a live herring - no circle hook, i have to give them a go. Also nailed another jew on SP 7 inch Gulp in camo. Not the biggest, went 60cm same place as the other week. Sorry i didn't call but it was a last minute decision. Fishing outside tomorrow (Sat) will let you know how i go . Stew.
  16. Just wondering if anyone has been out off Terrigal of late. Looking to head out either Wednesday or Thursday of theis week. Any feedback would be appreciated. Cheers Stew.
  17. Hi Marty, Well done again, it would off been an awsome experience to see that size of a patch of YFT and be in the middle of it. You and the boys from Reef Magic have had some great sessions this season. Hopefully catch up soon. Stewart
  18. Hi Marty, went out Saturday afternoon and could not find a temp break at all. Ended up 12nm SE of browns and cubed not far from a longliner. two other boats were also cubing the area. One lonely stripey was the end result and a bloody long trip home. Steve Law was with us and his mate from down at Narooma sent thru some photos of the bluefin they have been catching. They boated 10 on Saturday from 40kg up. Earlier in the week the boat caught 22 in one day. Now thats tuna fishing. Stewart
  19. Hi Marty, Stewart Graham here, well done on the fish looks like you had one of those days that everyone on board will remember. Hopefully i will have a similar day later this week. Stewart
  20. For the uneducated (myself) where is browns rock? Squidy
  21. Hi Damo, Also looking at going out this weekend. Are you planning on fishing late afeternoon or with the different moon phase do you think they will come on the bite during the day. Your advice is appreciated. Stewart
  22. Hi Benums, Over the last month the baits have been left alone they only seem interested in the soft plastics. Another fishraider (fish01796) went last Sunday night in the pouring rain and landed his first jew, once again baits untouched and a SP did the damage.
