Hey guys,
Once again i've managed to get out each day this weekend for some fishing and the reports are as follows!!
Saturday:
Headed over to Avoca beach to pick up some bait and brought various gear up as i didnt know the conditions and what fish to fish for till i got there got there around 1pm in the arvo picked up all the bait needed and met up with RayR for a bit of a bream/snapper session, set up everything i was using pillie tails and Ray was using some old bonito, as Ray went to put his cleats on his rod went off with a solid hook up, Ray then gave me permission to bring it on in, after a little bit of a tussle a nice solid trevally comes up soon after i get few solid bites with no hookup Ray got a Small flatty soon after that i hooked up onto what appeared to be the same flatty or his identical twin, and down came Team Bangus + Fishletic going for a tailor session as we were all talking Ray got yet another solid hookup on a very nice Bream! i then had a solid hook up and was fighting hard we all had it called for a sambo! but nope! up came a small sting ray fun fight he put up back in he went as well ! within minutes of my next cast i hada solid hook up and it took me into the reef and snagged my second hook onto somthing i could still feel the fish trying to free its self so i free spooled but nope he was stuck so i snapped it off n re rigged only to get another snag! (PICS IN ORDER OF DAYS BELOW!!)
Sunday:
Through the week i was contacted by another Raider "FramedTrash" Or Simon and he asked if i wanted to join him and a few of his mates on a Tuna Charter, Of course i still had the itch so i agree'd and sunday we met up at watsons bay SGFC and off we went!
We got out to 12 mile and decided to try have a bit of a jig for some kings lost 2 jigs and only 1 hookup of a Barracuda! So on we went trolling out to heatons hill we then changed course to try few different options conditions were GREAT! i couldnt understand why no hookups after 4-5hrs i went up onto the flybridge talking with the captain when we spotted a specific white bird which the captain told me apparently follow marlin through the waters i got a huge grin on my face as i was up for the next strike!! we trolled toward where the bird was spotted lost sight of the bird but then all of a sudden one rod starts going off i try jump down the flybridge! NO NO TIME! 2nd ROD GOES OFF then they start clearing the lines and 3rd ROD GOES OFF AND THE 4th without an idea of where to go i grabed the camera and tried to record some of the action of the QUADRUPLE HOOKUP!!! once we landed 2-3 we put out another lure really quick to try keep them around all fish landed and the other rod goes off so i grab it, started bringing it in and as i started to see colour i called out What the heck? is that a Dolly? The colours were that of a dolphin fish but nope as it came up it was infact another yellowfin tuna and SCORED MY FIRST YFT!!!!!!(would of been happy either way would of been my first dolly:P) 5 yellowfin tuna in less than 10 minutes with a quad hook up ! AMAZING!! spirits were all lifted after that High fives all around we start comparing our fish, and yes, i had the biggest one by a few cm !
we then started a troll again lost the school of YFT unfortunatly and lost the bird too so we started trolling back in the decky set up one rod with a small squid skirt and we started getting live bait ! one tiny mack tuna and one frigate! skip bait time !!! we trolled them out and no hookups so set them free and headed back in to call it a day!
Still happy i got a YFT even though he was only around the 8kg mark
