  1. So anyone been out breaming? I'm heading out tomorrow for the first time in ages and it's not my specialty. I usually hit poles and pylons around the place. Looking for a tip of where to target. Not really asking exact places but happy to hear them, but any general tips? Deep shallow, bays or main channel etc
  2. I saw them today in Cowan doing a big group donut in the water, I'm guessing that's part of making baby mullets
  3. A mate of mine had a similar thing, so gaffer taped the lid seal and left it for quite a while - weeks at least so he didn't have to deal with it. then circumstance and opportunity met so it was dumped in the garden of a non paying customer, strangely the interior of the esky has permanently changed colour
  4. Try "lowrance issues" and you will have plenty of light reading! I'm fishing Tuesday, I'll get some pics when it goes wrong, feeling confident of completing the task
  5. Reference song, Neil young - piece of crap. You, like me have bought a piece of crap.( EDIT Mines not a hook but I have the same troubles) You can take it back and get it replaced but the replacement will be crap as well. And you lose all your marks. I find the best fix for the 1.5foot depth thing is to change the depth range to 10m or so then back to auto so you don't need to do the full shutdown restart that takes ages. I've had mine do the no depth thing while slapping in chop as well as sitting perfectly still in calm water. In saying the above the customer support line is quite helpful.
  6. It wasn't the target, don't think I heard the 130 go click!
  7. We were half joking about a battery jigsaw and going through the whole block.
  8. Never found them in a packet of prawns, found plenty in Jew stomachs though
  9. Yep, couldn't live without them either.
  10. Mmm no good. I always put a couple of wraps of dental floss at the eye of gamakatsus cos the sharp edge takes out a leader at the snell as described Edit, poor writing
  11. Yep, whose got the most expensive trip to the ramp and back? M7-m2 -lct get a bit much
  12. ^^^ They might help as above, If you have enough power a hydrofoil won't make anything better
  13. What if your cheap boat hits something expensive or worse someone? Or spills fuel. . . Next to an oyster lease. Or gets smashed in a car accident
  14. Weight, take a mate or some bags of sand to talk to. Whichever your happier to take along
  15. 22.9 It slowly ticked up from 22.5 to 22.9 in the half an hour up to the bite.
  16. Trolled from Wollongong to husky and back over the weekend, the plan was for blues and or fin. Saturday was pretty damn quiet we didn't see a speck on the sounder until wide of the banks. Chatter was some bait and a fish or two in 150-400, we were at 1000 in half a knot of current going uphill. We found this at Kiama canyons and it ate a lure I made last week which was pretty cool. Sunday was a bit different with some sketchy reports regarding fin possibly nearby. Got just outside jb to find paddocks of slimies, these stretched all the way to Kiama or so in 100-150. Pulled couple of stripies along the way, the bait never quite right so we left them and went wider. And once again found nothing out there. Fun times in some of the smoothest conditions and a great feed at the end of it, even if we did miss the target.
  17. Out from Wollongong tomorrow and we'll follow our nose, guessing overnight in JB and and back on Sunday, chasing an April blue or fin
  18. How about a long paternoster, I once read a rig with a running sinker and a small float near the bait, the rig was said to be for avoiding crabs, never tried it. Or what you said and use cotton, losing bulk sinkers would get old pretty quick though
  19. They're killing it in tassie at the moment, deep dropping in the daytime. I don't reckon there is many at Browns or there would be encounters during gemmie season. Maybe stanny or Kiama canyons
  20. Mmm is that a fact or what you get told to justify the "marine " pricing. Genuine question- Do country cars on corrugated roads churn through batteries? Much tougher conditions than on the floor at the transom
  21. Yeah but How much do people sink into pokies How much do people spend on golf Or 4wds or this new turbo for that car Or nightclubs At least you might get a healthy meal from time to time
