  1. Byron I missed a few of your calls while I was away on holidays I will try and get in touch with you later tonight or tomorrow. Till then Anthony
  2. Fianly, the piccies. Anjoy! BTW- in case you wondering why the small Breambo has not head, he swallowed my hook and was bleedin everywhere, so I put him out of his misery.
  3. Went fishin with my Mrs old man tonight in Lane Cove River He's a handline only fisho so I only took 2 small rods (my bream Rod and my new okuma Graphite with Shakespeare Agility 2000 with 8lb braid). I also has small handline with 12lb on it and a size 4 long shank I took the beach and he went around the bend further. First cast got a good strike on the Okuma- and a small run, then in came a little but legal Bream. After trying to dehook him with no success I decided to keep him as he had fully swallowed a 1/8 jib head that I put a strip of mullet on. The water was alive with activity, and not mullet or bait jumping, but lots of swirling and fin activity in the light Next cast produced a better fish, he took 3 lively but powerful runs then i set the hook, he darted left, then tried to come straight towards me, then back in towards the structure. Got him on the sand and fine 32cm Breambo was flashing in front of me YIPPEE!!!! Rebaited and next cast- you guessed it! ... It got SLAMMED real hard the rod jumped off the wharf I was using as a holder and almost fell in the drink! This one was a bit of a pushover he came on the sand pretty quickly. He was just bigger then the last one going 33cm. Action was slowing down now but I still managed to get a honker of a fish that went 39 on the nose! - he took a sibiki rig with a little strip of squid tentacle and we went BERKO! Running all over the place, he took a bit of drag too in real short but sustained bursts. Up until now my bream rod with live poddy wasnt touched. I finally got the run I was waiting for on the poddy, and it turned out to be the same brother of the other 2, this one went 33cm also. It was the top of the tide (11:30) by the time I landed the last one and the Father In Law had only 1 run on his famous mullet gut, lol We decided to clean the fish and come home. Great night tops off a week where I nailed my new PB Kingie with a set of good Bream from a very local spot on the LCR. Will post up piccies tomorrow.
  4. Maybe a few hundred metres, only been there once or twice but I know there are lots of people congregating there recently for the Kingies
  5. Just head out of the harbour and off South Head you will see all the boats- thats where it is. Be wary of a weekend its like a car park- easier going mid-week when there aint so many people around. Good luck!
  6. It wasnt my boat sorry so dont know where Mark got it done, but I suspect it was a custom job cause his boat is fully kitted out with rocket launcher, 2 X side mounted holders + the ones in the gunnels. ... gee I hope thats the correct term for them, I have no idea about boats???
  7. No all the ones we got were while we were anchored over the reef and bottom bashing, they wouldnt take live squid nor live yakka, lol we used patternoster rigs 30lb and was getting dusted too easily, upgraded to 50lb did the trick! Strips of squid and bonnie did all the damage on all the kings and Mowies
  8. Ladies and Gents, I went fishing with my mate Mark, Tom and Clinton on marks barcrusher yeterday. Went for squid in middle harbour and yakkas then off the heads for a troll got 3 bonnies straight up I lost something that bit me clean off after 2 spectacular leaps Headed off the heads to the kingie grounds and I managed my first legal kingie going spot on 65cm, then a few drops later I got one that went 76cm 2 PS in one day Also got a honker 3kg Mowie and a wrasse We got dusted a few times and I had 3 hooks straightened (time to get better hooks I think), got dusted a few times aswell. In total we got: 3 Bonnies 5 Kingies between 65 and 78cm 2 Mowies 1 Wrasse + a heap of Red Rock Cod, Bakers and other undesirables. Had a great day out and met a coupla new lads. Here is the piccie
  9. Love it when a plan all comes together and you come up trumps! Great catch on the Soapie mate
  10. Agree- ABU 7000c3 are the best casting reels ever. Used Penn's, Daiwa Sealine's, Shimano TLD's none come close to the ABU for castability and price.
  11. They would be sand crabs mate. Good haul of Sambo's and very nice Breambo!
