  3. Paddy's is a great spot when its firing... Ive seen some monster flatties come from there when I was a kid, lol G/W on the breambo's did you have a net? if not... get one... saves you going some fishless (and crabless...) Tight lines Anthony
  4. WOW! Thats a great read Roberta . I remember my grandfather telling me those things @ the ripe old age of 9yo... It took me a few goes and luckily we went everyday so by the end of the week I was pretty good @ it It took me till I was 12yo till I was able to manage the bag all by myself. He used to put me onto worms with heads as "big as yours" - as he'd say. Ah them were the days... I think I'll give them a bash I havent been since I was 18yo. Ive been chomping to bits to try it again, Ive got most stuff required... just to locate that special beach, after all this isnt the mid-nth coast like in my younger days, lol Tight lines to everyone always Anthony
  5. Great Hammerhead mate I'd have kept her for dinner though, lol Tight lines Anthony
  6. Sounds good Nathan, I got your TXT so will give you a call likely monday to orgainse an outing and tee up with Johnny. Thanks for the replies everyone I'll upload the piccies ASAP once I get them off the camera.
  7. I fished my mate Dougy's backyard again last night. It was really slow to start off with being the first hour of the run-in upon arrival. After trying various baits (including fresh yakkas, fresh chicken and taylor strips) we finally came up trumps on Mulet strips. Dougy was the first to land a nice little 33cm Bream, then it was my turn- a nice healthy 35cm model that gave my new Tsunami 4-8kg flicker rod and Daiwa Regal 2500 a workout in close on 10lb. Dougy snared a monster fish that went 39cm and it was high 5's all round . With 3 in the bag we decided just one more fish- then I hooked a solid fish that was more weight then fight, until it realized it was in fact hooked... zzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzz...ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzz..... The Daiwa Regal was singing and dougy had to drop all his gear to grab the net for me. After a few tense moments and a few more short runs I had my 39.5cm Breambo safely in the bucket, and although not as chunky as Dougy's monster it was longer by all of half a cm. WOO-HOO! STOKED! Last baits deployed and start packing up to come home, then Dougy's rod does a short dance- unknowing what we had hooked I watched as Dougy pumped and wound his little rod which was under some serious load and up came a monster Blue Swimmer Crab. Some crafty netting skills (by yours truly!) and we have a complete bag of bruisers all taken on fresh Mullet strips and 6-10lb braid/flouro leader and long shank hooks. We got some piccies but they're on Dougy's camera- we will try to upload them later tonight if we aint too hammered... after all its NYE! Tight lines everyone and safe NY  Anthony

  11. Nice effort Roy- them some good fish there mate. Certainly a great way to blood a new stick, I wish I could say same about my own "blooding" but mine pale insignificantly in comparison. Lookin forwards to some more of your reports. Tight lines Anthony
  12. Yep, what Ray said... I used to catch them with my grandfather when I was a kids along with pippies. I can assure you onshore winds are a big turn-off for worms- but you can still get a few for a session if you are persistent. I havent wormed in nearly 20 years. We used to wash them out in a bucket first or water first, then roll them in the dryest sand you can and store them someshere dry and dark (we stored ours under a caravan) and they lasted up to 4 days if you repeat the process of washing and rolling. Im fairly keen to try it again this summer - just to find a suitable location where people traffic is minimal to snare a few then lob them out for some whiting sounds like a perfect afternoon of fishing to me Merry Xmas and tight lines to all Anthony
  13. G/W Jason ... no garies today for bait? Chat soon Anthony
  14. Good luck mate- I sure wish I could go fishin tomoz morning... I got a job interview instead, lol I might be able to sneak in a night session tomoz if the "forecast" drop in wind is actually correct am itching to go.
  15. Fezza, the bar is really dangerous. I was a regular fisho/visitor to Harrington in my former years we went there every holiday from when I was 4yo till I was 18yo, and have seen people drown near the mouth of the river and over behind the breakwall, I dont think its worth risking personally. We used to know the local beach inspector who was usually the first on the scene when there was a fatality or someone needed assistance. Launching Harrington is great if you want to go over to the Manning Point Flats or head upstream to the farmlets, but not to get outside... besides the best fishing is NE wide of Diamond Head and up to Port Mac and Laureton. Good luck while you are up there- you might run into some of the resident Pearl Perch and Snapper, and if you are real lucky you might pull a Teraglin from one of the reefs. Tight lines Anthony
  16. OVER THIS WIND!- I wanna go fishin before Xmas day, lol

  24. I got donuts last night off the sand, water temp is down and there are very few fish around. Lots of red weed on all beaches ATM- my braid is covered in it and needs to be stripped and reloaded- pain in the butt! I was fishing live beach worms, pillies, fairly fresh arrow squid and fresh mullet strips for 2 lousy Ray's- my mate got 2 small Dart on ganged pillies- we fished from mid-arvo till just on midnight. Hope you have better luck than we did Tight lines Anthony
