  1. Looks like it was well worth it in the end with a good bag of flathead,As for the salmon they taste great i usually cut them into cutlets and marinade with olive oil, lemon, wholegrain mustard and straight on to the barbeque DELICIOUS.In some countries they would do back flips to catch fish like our salmon i think we are spoiled for choice and need to appreciate what we have on offer.

  10. no worries there gribble i was fishing bluefish at north head and no burley was used just make sure you work middle of the water column and work the worm slowly with the same direction as current.
  11. I went out for a quick fish yesterday arvo in anticipation of catching some blurters on soft plastics but they didnt show so I switched to plan B which was to nail a pig on plastic. After persisting for half an hour I came up tight and the fish took a good 20m run down a deep channel and luckily didnt make it home. I kept the maximum pressure that the 4lb fireline and 10lb leader would allow an eventually won. The plastic that did the damage was 4inch turtle back worm.
  12. Here is a better quality photo.
  13. I was fishing manly beach with a mate approximately 2 months ago when he baged this impressive mulloway of 17kg. The fish was taken on a live tailor that we had spun up that afternoon. The first livey was sent out at 8pm and the ratchet started screaming by 9pm. My mate freespooled the fish for 30m before leaning back and setting the hook firmly in the corner of the mouth. Then he took a good 30m run straight out after which he changed direction running parallel with the waves. The fight lasted 15mins, I then ran down into the suds and gilled the fish. There were some big cheers all round and we celebrated with fresh mulloway cutlets the next day.
