  1. Minchinbury, unfortunately it's not the first theft we have add. I HATE THIEVES!!!!!!
  2. Im not 100% sure, but i think its a happy moment. Shouldnt handle them as i believe they can give a nasty painful sting. Someone else may correct me here.
  3. Is it definately fuel? If so it can only come from the power head. Pull the cover off and have a look where its dripping from. It looks like a fair bit so it shouldnt be hard to see where its coming from.
  4. Not really, rubber bush should spin, or the motor will stall. Gear boxes are tough, you would need to hit a few rocks to do significant damage. Hit a rock at higher revs, yeah it will break something.
  5. I have to correct myself, get a better dog than my muts. Ute got broken into last night, on the driveway, and my muts didn't make a peep. Took the gps the low dogs. That 3 thefts from my house in 12 months. That'll do me, I'm moving.
  6. Get a dog mate. The only thing to alert you to these maggots.
  7. Rid yourself of it and chuck a stainless on. Huey marine is an Evi dealer so can probably help. I tried straitening a prop years ago and broke it. Put the stainless on and haven't looked back. Some metal workers will have a crack, but props need to be as balanced as a tailshaft on a car, if not you will get shudders, bearing wear and blown seals. Talk to a marine tech first, but you might/probably have problems if you get a bodge repair done.
  8. Pics not great. Is it stainless?
  9. Giving me the bug............. Might have to dip the boat in the water and hit my secret spot. (Brooklyn bridge holes)
  10. One of the best yarns I've heard in ages! Top fish, top story, and top gear plug! Shimano rarely fails!
  11. That's the way!! Wish my wife would come with me, but I just can't convince her.
  12. Don't let bitter people like me turn you off, I love my boat and would only sell it to get a bigger one!! My gripe is recent and isolated, and is gear related not really boat related. Anyways if it's your first, a tinny is a good start to get into the estuaries etc. However if you want some harbor action a 15+ foot boat is good. Mines 15 foot Steber and I take it offshore more often than not. Handles it great. Seen heaps of good used 15 - 18 foot lately for sale, so you won't struggle to find one. Best bet is take someone with a few years under them to give some advice.
  13. I got a better idea. Go out the back, dig a big hole, and stand at it throwing hundred dollar notes into it until the wife throws you out! Sorry, I'm a bit ticked off with my boat at the moment. What's your budget? Towing capacity? Storage capacity? How many people do you need to fit on it? New or used?
  14. Hahaha classic! I'm an avid yaka, however it still makes me laugh when people fall out. It shouldn't but it does. Sucks about your gear but, sorry to hear. I must say but I am yet to fall out of mine, however the biggest swell I've hit was off a wake board boat at the nepean. It may come soon. Het musty I'm hanging to grab a king on the yak, where are you launching to get them?
  15. Cool, check your PM. Spots perfect for your tinny.
  16. Hi raiders, This site is getting bigger and better every day!! We may soon be listed as pests!!! I haven't been to a BBQ or party recently and not met someone who jumps on and reads the site, now I just need to convince em to join! I've been a site member for about 12 months now, and I'm pretty sure it's not coincidental, but the last 12 months have by far been the best fishing I have ever had!!! A few people on the site share knowledge that is generally only extracted by torture, and it's paid off for me in massive numbers. Owners/admin/mods probably don't get much recognition for the job they do, so I hope a little helps you going and keeps this place strong. So thanks guys and girls, I am one happy FishRaider!
  17. If your going in at Brooklyn, get over to patonga near the entrance to the creek. Great flathead and the odd tailor on sp's. All sandy bottom and a good little spot
  18. Narrabeen is completely closed off at the mouth at the moment, not sure when it will be opened up again. If you find out let me know but. I love it down there.
  19. Hey Stan. The place is full of gutters and holes. The current runs really hard so we just strolled around until we found some slower water. Mostly out the front (towards the sea) in the shallow stuff. The big girl was collected just past the group of rocks near the point, you'll know what I'm talking about when you see them. (nice looking green stringy weed on them too) It's probably a place to hit when the tide is changing, a nice looking eddy near the marker boys across the inlet got my eye, and I'm thinking of hitting it up with the boat. Also saw some guys taking decent tailor on pretty heavy gear plonking baits in the middle of the channel from the beach. Water is crystal clear and it's a really sandy bottom, but with the strong current comes weed both tides. Would be a good drift in the boat with a sea anchor out to slow it up.
  20. Yeah it was a sight. Have to correct myself but, it was 12lb leader. Still not a bad effort I think.
  21. Up at Ettalong for a wedding, so chucked a few rods in the car, just in case the bride didn't turn up. My brother got this little lady in a nice gutter off the sandy point whilst flicking plastics. Tried to put her back in, but a 40 min fight(close to) took it out of her, she just wouldn't swim, once she started floating, we thought about dinner, there is 14 of us up here. Caught on 8lb mono with a 6lb leader, hence the 40 min fight. Really odd for a big girl, just kept pulling line off. We thought it was a ray, when we saw it the first time, we couldn't believe it. Ended up at 86cm and guess of about 5-6kg. No eggs in her belly which we were happy about, but still a bit of a shame taking it home. It's somehow satisfying letting these girls go, but it wasn't meant to be.
  22. That one got me going.
  23. What system are you fishing? About to hit up the hawkesbury and nepean, and from what I hear it's starting to come on
  24. I've had yellow tail, just like that too. Be knackered if I'd eat it the next day but!
