  1. It was pinched from minchinbury. Didn't take any pics of it, but it's black and the brand is "Witness" they didn't take the support bars so unless they go buy them, or rip them off someone else's boat it will stand out.
  2. Advice taken. But wow they even pinch stuff that's bolted down!!! Lowlifes is all I can say
  3. Thanks Huey, I'll take you up on that. Swordy you are correct, the tinnie was 4 people, still 2 more than I think is safe. The biggest reason for my rant is this, yes people drown when not wearing a life jacket, but the issue isn't that they are not wearing one, it is how they ended up in the water in the first place. If the current laws were better policed and our licensing was more involved we would have better boatsman and a safer environment and a lot less accidents would happen. Forcing life jackets I don't think will make to much of a difference. Just my thoughts
  4. Nice!!!! Can't wait to head up that way again, always a great bash in that part of the world!!!
  5. I really don't like this. Safety on my boat is top of the order, don't get me wrong, boating accidents are high. Hence the reason I have boating rules. I have a Steber 4.75 (just under the 4.8m specified) and my rules are; 1. No booze 2. 3 people max 3. No skylarking And the most important 4. OBEY THE RULES!!!!!!! I own a boat to enjoy, it's not my fault the law flaunts the basics to create a common ground. (i.e .05 limits, max capacity greater than should be etc.) So why the hell should I wear a life jacket whilst drifting my fav sand drifts in the calm at Forster in the off peak?????? That is rubbish! Before the current boat I had a 3.5 mtr tinny, that had the same 5 people max capacity!!!! A friend of mine owns a 25 foot Trojan plate alloy that has a max of...... You guessed it......5 I own a 16 foot ski boat that has a max capacity of..........tada.....6!!!!!!! Do the right thing people and this draconian style law won't fall near us. Very harsh to fall in the same category as the drunks, inexperienced and down right dumb.
  6. That looks magic. It was made to be a hard top
  7. Mongrel low bastards are at it again. Last Thursday I put a brand new Bimini on the boat. Took the boat away with me Friday and came back Sunday night. Tuesday morning wake up to find someone has unbolted it and taken it. Unbloodeybeleivable
  8. You got me thinking now. I remember the question when I did my license many years ago, but reading the web site now it doesn't seem to include passengers. I will be calling them (maritime) tomorrow to check now. I'll post back when I find out.
  9. Pretty sure everybody on the boat must be under .05. Never seen it enforced but it is the law
  10. Well a very quite evening indeed. It started a little earlier than planned when we set up at parsley bay near the old oyster lease. We arrived just as the tide was turning so it was a bit dead to begin with. 2 catch and release bream was an hours worth at that spot, and with that decided to head over to the freeway bridge to set up camp. 3 lines set in between the 2 of us and a small spinner each flicking lures where the burly trail was floating to, this went on for about 3 hours before the first bite, which was a screamer but snagged up shortly after, so no fish. Nxt rod almost instantly went screaming away, but unfortunately the fight was bigger than the fish, small bream went back in the water and we set them again. Another 2 hours passed and it was decided that it's just not our night. Quick bite at McD's on the way home and another fishing outing over. All in all a poor night but alot better than the alternative of nothing. The boat will be back on the water next week so with a little planning I'm thinking a full day Monday on the bite.
  11. Heading out tonight chasing my 2nd career Jew at Brooklyn. My first was a soapy in the middle of the day on a stinky sun burnt pilchard under brooklyn bridge (they could hear me celebrating at berowra) so I guess all the normal rules are out the window. Watch this space, I'll post the report tomorrow. Happy fishing people.
