  2. Excellent observation Mike... you will also note that i have changed the 115 sticker to a 150 version. sickers are the way forward when it comes to power.
  3. Hi Guys, CFD and i spent the weekend burning petrol racing around Botany bay.. we stopped for a few quick flicks around brighton and what seems to be the place to be seen 'the middle of the bay'... Best results came from Gulp wrigglers and Squidgy fish as my supply of Slam! plastics has run out. We boated half a dozen legals on saturday in about 40 minutes, and another half dozen on sunday keeping two for the table. We also ran into some just under legal snapper which were great fun on the light gear. We also tried downrigging some live squid on Sunday morning to no avail, so squid rings entree! Some pics of the weekend.
  4. 10 points to the first person who can pic the difference. Before: After: In summary.. it is going to take me some time to get used to the sheer power and torque of the new motor, it goes like a scalded cat, uses the same and sometimes less than my previous 4/s and it is oh so quiet. Top speed is around the mid 40 knott area.
  5. Nice looking motor there! it should give your boat a new lease on life!
  6. sorry... i should elaborate. with the mounting plate flat, the angle of the pipe should be 30'. I have one i can lend you if you need some measurements.
  7. shimano curado 300's are the most popular baitcaster up north, used by many guides and charters.
  8. Linesystem - Bass Hard. for 20lb and under. YGK 30lb and over.
  9. Be sure to mark any 1000lb blue marlin you see as you pass over Kona!
  10. Hueys was fishraider central last week... i dropped past for a look and there and saw 3 other fishraider boats... two of which had new etecs on them
  11. I would go for 1000m of your chosen line class.
  12. Please add myself and crazedfisherdude.
  13. Hey Guys, Just looking for a few reports from today, i saw ross hunter on the way back in this arvo and i was wondering if there were any results from today? Cheers sam.
  14. I'd go a baitrunner 6500 on a t-curve 200.
  15. V Systems are good, and have an awesome warranty. The saragosa's are smoother than the V systems and come with 10 years warranty.. blow it up and have it fixed/replaced by Shimano... i don't think there is anything off sydney that will blow up a Saragosa.... My braid lies a bit messy on the spool, but i am using this FINS braid which doesnt lay nicely at the best of times.
  16. Inhlanzi: The camera is a Nikon D80SLR, the Seafarer is a 2002 model, in mint condition, yeah the bait table came with it and only has the two angled holders. Boban: We were very tempted to throw a pair of albies out live if we saw something we liked on the sounder. but yeah, some 6kg gear would have been fun. Robbie: I'll try to fish the pointscore, providing i have a motor on the back of my boat, it might be making room for something more exciting.... we had the best results on Pakula Mosquitos and Rapala X-Rap 20 deep divers.
  17. I went for the Pacific composites two piece poles, they are thick walled and stiff enough to run BIG lures with thick bands. I run them out of Reelax gunnel mount holders.
  18. Thanks for the compliments on the boat guys, it is my pride and joy! As for my camera and lens, i am using a Nikon D80 Digital SLR, the lens is a Nikon Nikkor 18-200mmVR which is an awesome 'do evertything lens'
  19. Hi Guys, I went south with Warnie for an attempt on some fin on Saturday, the plan was to meet at maccas for some fuel then hit the water. We arrived at the ramp to be greeted by glassed out conditions which made the run to the 100fth line fast and comfy. We dropped the lures in over the shelf and tracked NE to run over a temp break than we had marked on the SST charts. We ran into our first couple of Ablies in amongst endless bloops and splashes of micro jellybean stripies and albies hitting bait all around us. We pushed wide to the 1200fth line to see if we couldnt run over something larger than 3kg. It was unsucessful so we ran south along 100fth and ran into some more bite sized albies, we threw some cubes in and had them at the back of the boat, not interested in the offerings with hooks loaded unfortunately, so we trolled on for a few more plate sized fish before calling it a day a 2pm. Some pics of the day,
  20. I use a Shimano Saragosa 18,000 on a Wilson live fibre TX300 Jig stick.. works very very well on the fin
