  1. My old neighbour owned a 5.8m one with an 85hp Suzuki we went out in it every couple of weekends, it was an excellent boat and very stable. I thought it was a little underpowered and a 115 would have been nice but it still went ok. Plenty of fishing room and had live tank etc with reasonable room up front. Id have one on my shortlist if i was looking for a boat of that type.
  2. Im sure they are very interested in car racing, but more than likely something more exotic that can be fuelled by gold bullion.
  3. Orient point ramp has a cleaning table, pontoon, toilets and a small sandy section. The tide rockets thru there so be sure that your engine is going to run before pushing out

    Jervis Bay

Theres truckloads of salmon around at the moment. My mate had this one below smacked by something on the way in 2 weekends ago.
  5. I saw some pics of this Lue pub a few weeks back, some good fish caught at previous events
  6. Also worth mentioning that not all synthetic oils are suitable for premixing as they separate from the fuel and the oil will sit in the bottom of your tank. This is very common in boats as most sit for minimum 1 week at a time and it only takes a day or two for the oil to completely separate. Caster based oils are the worst for this so make sure to read all the info on the packaging as it will tell you if it is to suit premixing or oil injection.
  7. Thanks Huey, i will send you a PM after i look at some boats tonight. pelican, yeh i thought about doing that but then if i want to use the motor on my other boat it becomes a drama
  8. Looking at new only and to suit a short shaft 30hp engine, both of those stacers according to the specs are long shaft motor only.
  9. I guess nobody knows? So far found a SeaJay Magnum 4.15 that will do the job, ill see whats at the boat show this afternoon
  10. I have a spare 30hp motor and am looking for an aluminium tinny to suit the motor, only problem being that the motor is a short shaft so the options are somewhat limited. Im after something around 3.8-4.2m so any suggestions of what is around is much appreciated. Not worried about what brand it is or anything like that as long as it can do the job.
  11. The DPChip would be my choice Exhaust system from Beau Desert exhaust send them an email for info they are very helpful. A front mount intercooler on a D22 Nav is also an excellent upgrade as they suffer badly from heat soak which reduces the power output in a big way.
  12. Wait til you start modding these turbo diesels then you will see the real potential
  13. Thanks for the reply Jeff If members could copy and paste the below with the answers to make up a reference table that would be great. Id like to know the diameters of each weight line in a particular brand eg. Fireline as it is stated on the packaging FIRELINE 6lb = ? diameter 8lb = ? diameter 10lb = ? diameter 12lb = ? diameter 14lb = .23mm and so on, that way i and others can use this for reference to purchase spools of line to suit specific reels that i have and know how much i can spin on without the need to go to the store and look at it. Cheers
  14. Hey fellas, Does anyone have a link to, or a listing of the different diameters of braided lines and their respective breaking strains. e.g Fireline 14lb = .23mm Thanks
  15. Yeh couldnt believe it when it rolled up on the sand, sure as hell wasnt expecting to see a bream.
  16. Some mates and i decided to go for a leisurely drive down the south coast to one of their holiday houses on Saturday morning. We arrived shortly after 12pm, got some lunch, mowed the lawns and then got the boat out. We started off by pumping some nippers to accompany the soft plastics cause the wind was blowing at about 400 million mile an hour. It wasnt long before the first fish was on board a small sand flattie, then some pinkies and a couple more flatties. The wind was starting to become a pain so we cruised up river to get out of it and into a few of our favourite spots on some shallow flats. Plenty of yellow fin bream around in these parts as well as some good flatties. We threw out a few plastics, some nippers and one rod with a ganged garfish in case there was a big fella hanging around like there often is and sure enough within a few minutes my mate Fred was onto a solid fish. The little overhead setup made short work of the fish and in came a flattie just shy of 2kg and 65cm. The next hour or so was spent catching and releasing a heap of bream and flatties from 25-38cm before we called it quits to go throw some lines out on the beach. At about 9:15pm we walked down to the beach armed with squid, pilchards and some garfish ready to catch anything that was interested. The big swell had formed a few nice gutters which we marked out just before the sun went down ready for the nights attack. First cast with a ganged garfish my mate Hacka's line is tangled around all of us up on the beach where the wind had blown the slack everywhere [this is his first time beach fishing] We tell him to wind up the slack, nring it in and re-cast it, then he says its pretty heavy i think ive got some weed stuck on it. 2 mins later he winds it up onto the beach and i walk over to see a big fat bream It was hooked perfectly in the side of the mouth on the bottom 3/0 hook, we could not believe it We chucked it in the bucket for a weigh in back at the house whilst we fished for another hour or so. We caught a few more fish and had a few runs landing a couple of rays and some bronzies but the bream was certainly the highlight at 1.38kg and 40cm to the fork bit under 45 to the end of the tail. Here are some of the pics, ill add some more to the next post
  17. I had the opposite problem to you where a certain tackle store refused to sell me a license because i wanted to use Eftpos, they told me all the money goes to the fisheries and if i pay with eftpos they will have to foot the bill for the bank fees so it costs them money. When i got home i looked up the fisheries website and noticed they were a Standard agent and actually receive comission from the sales of licenses, that place will now never see another dollar of mine Heres the info for people who wish to read it so you dont get spun bullshit like i did. http://www.fisheries.nsw.gov.au/recreation...r_agent_network
