  3. I don't mind the rain or swell............ But throw in the shitty wind to make the trio..........welcome to Feb. I am heading out tomorrow wide so let's see- Reels are just begging to be turned, I can hear them.
  4. Mate I hear your pain..I take this time off work every year to do one thing...................fish and troll for marlin. If it isn't the weather, the wife harassing me about how this should be family time, or mates that let you down, it would be so much better..........should have stayed at work.
  5. My Yak on a beautiful winters morning earlier this year on the central coast.
  6. More pressure it is.....ill let you know how i go.
  7. Thanks mate, i will try that. I thought I got a fair bit of pressure but maybe I dont. it gathers from the rod tip end, not the leader end- I will post some pics tonight to give you a better idea.
  8. Just a question for the more experienced............when I tie a Plaited double,I make it about 100mm long. Tying it isnt a problem but when I do a drag test on the rod and put tension on the gear, it gathers....what am I doing wrong???
  9. Yeah thats what I was thinking of doing as well 100m should ne enough I guess.
  10. I was in the kayak chasing squid off Terrigal yesterday and noticed the red stuff about 200m off the beach- guess it is only a natter of time until it his the beach.
  11. Thanks mate, good point, I will use a longer wind on.
  12. Yeah, I was going to use it for trolling, I have always used mono in the past...but am interested to hear most are still using mono...Food for thought i guess. Unless someone can give me a good reason not to (ie: you need the stretch of mono, color of the braid will deter fish when trolling ect)I will give it a try.
  13. Hey, Just wanted to get your thoughts on what line class to put on this reel......Should I go a good 80lb braid and get poss 500-600m cap...or just go all out and put 1000m of 50lb braid all round. Some feedback and know how would be appreciated. Noel.
  14. Thanks for the replys, I do like game fishing and do quite a bit- boat is ready for a good season this year i hope. Will be spending a lot of time this year down rigging for kings, as long as the squid plaqy the game. Look forward to catching up with some of you guys. Noel

  17. Hi everyone, Im keen to rally some Kayakers on the Central Coast to get together for a fish. Im new on this sight and keen to get a few people together and hit the water. Let me know what you think?????
  18. the pesky old Leather Jackets
  19. Thanks Guys, it is a wonderfully comfortable unit, I managed to kill three hours on it that day and didnt notice the time go by. The Yak itself is a Scorpio Leatherback 13ft. Heaps of storage X5 rod holders and I have set up with a lowrance sounder and downrigger- Cant wait to get into the Kingys with this one!!
  20. Just wanted to share a pic of my new Kayak, took it out yesterday for a spin playing with a few small bream.....there is something special about cruzing the oyster leases, specially on a day like that.
  21. Ive got a mate like that....pain in the ar*e, thats why i do most of my fishing on my own- bought a kayak for that reason. If your ever up the Central Coast send me a PM.
  22. Hi all, I live on the coast (Gosford)and work shift work, so plenty of days off. Due to this fact I get out quite a bit and love beach fishing, live baiting the rocks and spinning from the rocks ect. Unfortunately a mate I fish with is soft and very unreliable, so I tend to head out a lot on my own. Hence.....Im looking for like minded fishos to catch up with and have a fish. Thanks Noel.
