  9. Don't give up mate it's all about perservering and eventually the results will come and when they do you won't look back. As Ryder mentioned try to fish around the high tide if you can. If conditions allow maybe try a 1/16 jig head with those SPs and see how you go. The 1/16 will have a slower sinking rate than the 1/8 and you will still be able to get a reasonable cast in. If you do find yourself fishing next to someone using bait and don't get any hits it's probably best to move further along the shore away from them as the theory is that the fish will 'switch on' to the bait used and focus their attention on that rather than the SP. Covering ground on the shoreline is also important so after several casts in one spot without any hits move a little along the shoreline until you do get in amongst action. Good luck and hang in there and hope you get onto some nice fish on SP very soon. Ian

  15. It was great to meet you too Witha. Yeah the young fella was itching to practice his casting not long after we arrived but I explained we are here for a 'fishing lesson' then we will have the chance to fish later. Then when he does finally have a cast he casts his line straight over yours .... good thing we are Raiders!! Good luck with the kayak and great looking new outfit mate and looking forward to your future reports. Ian

  20. Thank you so much Donna & Stewy and the Admin Team for organising and carrying out such a successful and memorable day Thanks very much also to the exceptionally talented and generous mentors we had on the day: Andrew, Pete, Trevor & Dave giving up your Sunday to help out so many and congratulations for becoming Gold Members. Andrew (The Iceman) you were simply amazing the way you generously and patiently shared so much of your skills and knowledge with the group I was in. The stories you told were very entertaining too. I hope I didn't wear you out with all the questions I bombarded you with! Thanks very much Andrew much appreciated indeed and I learnt so much from you and looking forward to putting it all into practice Thanks Deano, Stephen and the BBQ Chefs for preparing delicious bacon & egg rolls and sausage sandwiches for everyone, it was very nice to have hot food and a hot cuppa on a rather coolish windy autumn day Geoff and Lyn thanks very much for the generous gifts you provided on the day. My young boy was over the moon when he received the fishing game from you and I look forward to sitting down with him and the family and playing it!! Thanks also to the Scratchie Family, Deano and Yarrone for travelling considerable distance to participate on the day.... I hope you all had a safe and pleasant trip home. The thank you list goes on and on, so anyone else who generously gave up their time to help out in one way or another, your efforts and contributions are very much appreciated by all. It was great to meet so many Raiders and put names to faces and I must say what I experienced on the day confirmed to me that Fishraider is one big happy family All the Best Ian
