  1. Very well done Luc You are quickly becoming an expert at this style of fishing and I like your rationale about using the lighter gear as apposed to those other guys just nose dragging the fish up.... where's the sport in that and it is just a one sided contest too. It must be very rewarding to land fish like that on light fly gear and to out perform the other guys using bait and heavier convential gear. Nicely done Sir! All the best Ian
  2. Great looking fish Witha and tastey looking dish Well done on a tremendous PB! Keep up the sensational work. All the best Ian

  10. Sensational work Pete and great post That's a ripper of a session you had with 6 bream and a 70's flathead Nice work as always and please keep em coming. All the best Ian

  12. Great stuff Waz and congratulations on opening your account on SP inside Zmans are great plastics and top value too that will last and last provided of course you don't get snagged or bitten off. In fact I've had them last longer than the jig head itself. If using SPs at night a little ambient light from street lights, bridges etc will make it easier to see your line and detect bites. Keep up the great work and keep em coming. Ian
  13. Well done Yowie on getting a few quality fish as always. Great work! All the best Ian

  18. My first lure outfit was the Shimano Sienna 2500 / Catana 2-4kg combo with 4lb braid for landbased bream & flathead and has served me well and still going strong. You can get this combo for under $100 plus braid/leader if you look around. Great value for money. The Sedona is also a great affordable reel and a step up or two from the Sienna. Good luck with your selection. Ian
  19. Welcome to Australia Adam and hope you enjoy your stay here Thanks so much Luc for going to such lengths to put up great information and photos explaining all about this topic. I like your analogy about the kids in the playground drifting towards the bin, another would be a solitary tree in the middle of a park which will draw the kids in to play around the tree, climbing it and swinging from the branches and of course providing shade and shelter from the elements. From your photos it looks like you have some great looking flats to fish right at your doorstep! In your second photo bottom right hand corner, it looks like flathead have burried themselves in the sand on a higher tide. Thanks again Luc for taking the time and effort to put this up, your input on the Forum is invaluable Great stuff Ian
