well the plan was to go Tuna fishing then that got cancelled Then I was going with a fellow raider then it looked like the weather was going to be 25km of wind so we called it off then my wife got involved a reminded me of promise I made to my Nephew cornered me while I was having a week moment. so I elected to take him out thinking we would be back by lunch blow out of the water, it ended up a OK day dogbox

Hi guys went fishing Friday with my Nephew His first time at sea We started at Como working our way up the river to Yarra point all for a big O Weather improved headed to the heads for a trawled up the coast still a big O In close of Maroubra small fish lots of bait small salmon and chinamen headed wide to the 40m mark chinamen still on the sounder we made a 1/2km move first drop On On On next hour loaded up with flathead His face lit up I've never seen a kid so excited his biggest 65cm, he out fished me three to one it was a top day just to be spectator

Just to add to this topic I called my mate Tom who sprays water weeds in the Bankstown and Liverpool council areas, asked if he had come across any spots lately. Tom gave me a few places to go and look but all where dead, any way while doing three point turn down some dirt road in suburbia i found some weed identical to what I used to use, it really fine green hair weed in fresh water. Dose it matter if I'm using fresh water green hair weed its it the same as what you collect at the shore line in the rock pools to catch black fish? dogbox

Yar its a long day we put in full 12 hours and when you decide to turn for home you really wish it was less than an hour away I'm not a regular to the shelf I only go when some call up requiring a decky but it really is another level in the pushing the boundaries in alloy 7m boat not to mention there is some thing really special in the Blue Water. Jervis Bay is where i like to go alot quicker to get to the shelf. As soon as the reports start of Blue Fin I'm off the JB for a few days dogbox

We made NE of Heatons 1250 Fathoms about 110km from botany before turning for home Two others where wider with nil results im just making a estimate basted on GPS map and skippers location advice dogbox

Just a quick report Headed out on Fin Finder today for a area NE of Heatons looking for the temp break. Temperature didn't change much pretty steady between 20.5 and 20.9 Radio reported a short bill caught 15nm inside of browns early morning A few small tuna caught all throw backs, not a lot bait wide All the action seams to be west of browns in the still warmer water 21.6 on the shelf edge Weather 3 seasons in one day swell under 2 no wave chop little wind water not as blue as I would expect for this time of year. Guess well have to wait a little longer for the cold current, back out in around two weeks. dogbox

Just add if your boat is easy affected by wind like mine try a sea anchor i had one sea anchor bought from BCF blue tarp material completely useless, i then bought one made from a type of material like a parachute best one by far dogbox
