Now i thinking of chasing lobsters and spending more time on the squid. I have even started thinking about what else I'm missing that you can add to you culinary dinner. for me any crab for chilly crab dish and I'm not a chilly fan but there is only a very small amount of chilly, I don't even notice it dogbox
  4. This is what i have best thing i ever bought for the boat about $350 a little hard to install because you have to make a spacer plate so the arm or catch hook is at the right angle to the hull of the boat. 5 star I sometimes use swell affected beach ramps and without this its just to dangerous dogbox

  7. Great news I spoke with Donna a few years ago and had no idea of the money and sacrifice that goes into this keeping this site free. I have benefited immanency over the years so I am happy to pay a small fee. Come to think about it this could become a game changer for other sites. If Donna is successful in introducing a small fee other sites will follow. I consider this I read a post know where the fish are go to those spots and catch fish. Alternative is not knowing where the fish are float around no fish. I can see many benefits with the site having a little money in the bank. Smart move Donna dogbox
  8. We had a go pro set up and I'm going through the footage I'll see if I have any clear pictures to put up. dogbox
  9. After years of trying yesterday we landed our first marlin. After a 2.5 hour fight on 15kg TLD50 we sided the estimated 200kg Blue Marlin in 450 fathoms east of browns. What an epic fish these are after 2.5 hours this fish just didn't give up, while we had it up against the side of the boat it still had way to much fight left in it and while held the bill it thrash us around like we where riding a bull. It manage to wear though the 250 pound leader and break free slowly swimming away leaving us to contemplate whether we where ever on top of this beast or was it just playing with us. While it saddens me that this site will close and my mornings reading posts will never be the same it seem fitting that my last post is about my catch of a life time. dogbox
  10. Last time I was there I was fishing on the east side of Pulbah Island. A guy caught a 8kg jew in the middle of the day. There was plenty of other fish like bream flathead and whiting. dogbox

  13. Haven't been out for awhile been busy but the wife and I managed a quick outing on Tuesday to the Botany Bay wide FAD. Water temperature epic 27.2 and the FAD is loaded with Dollies. We managed a solid hook up before a malfunction with the boat caused us head back to the ramp for safety reasons only after 30 minutes at the FAD. dogbox

  18. A person once said to me "no flow no go" the bigger in tide movements the better the fishing. I see over then next few days the tides rises and falls solid. I also checked a program I use which predicts best times to go and i would have to say its pretty good. Yar absolutely hit the deep and as soon as the tide rising hit those area that the water starts to move into dogbox The Day Rating will be 3 (good) out of 4 (excellent). Major Times: · 01:09 - 03:09 · 13:32 - 15:32 Minor Times: · 06:35 - 08:35 · 20:30 - 22:30

  20. Well I'm not to sure on hooks my fishing mate is the one who has invested in all the gear. We are going out again on Wed I'll check with him and discuss our current techs. On another question the bait station 17NM off Nth head is this a place you can catch bait or this a place just to drag lures or float lives? dogbox
  21. Your right I think a letter from fisheries and people who do this get registered on list as an offender, repeated reports of a person doing this should be followed up and further action taken. dogbox
  22. I've been chasing my first marlin for about three years its been a learning curve and I am at the stage that we have the spreed right reading maps and are able to find and raise marlin and get a strike. But i keep dropping the fish soon after the strike. Can anyone give me some advice I'm thinking that when I get the strike I need to speed the boat up or maybe look at changing the point angle on the hooks. Any advise appreciated dogbox
  23. Went out yesterday pass browns to 850 fathoms water temperature 23.2, radio was constant with hook ups around the 70-100 fathoms in 22.7, water blue current 2 knots. Bait scatted little bird action. Came back to the 80 fathoms hooked small blue but dropped it. Another report latter in the day of a hook up near the peak. Came across a fish trap in 40 fathoms lots of small dolly's jumping The season she a starting. dogbox
  24. I took a photo of the guy in the boat for future reference. He made a number of excuses but they where drowned out by my yelling at him of being a low life. As much as I think it's a crime and it is, its petty theft. I have reported it to authorities but I don't expect anything to come of it.
  25. Yep they are their got two before a spotted a guy steeling my trap. Got him in the act then I pulled the traps because he was hanging around dog box
