    Have minn kota 12V 54lbs pilot on 4.3 aluminium for 8 years with no problems at all.

    Agree. I have many different cordless tools (brands, types and voltages) and I would use only dedicated charger designed for the same type battery type.

    What warranty does Aldi battery have? Buy battery with 3-4 years warranty and you should be pretty safe. Bunnings is selling good batteries too, just ask at the Special orders desk.

    You can either go with 4 strokes Merc, yamaha, suzuki, honda or 2 stroke fuel injected Evinrude ETEC. Advantage of new ETEC is less servicing and weight. Service is required after 3 years or 300 hours. Sorry, I've just read, that production of ETEC is shutting down!

    Hawkesbury will be full of debris and muddy water after these rains. Pittwater should be ok.

    Mine is the same. Stacer 429 Rampage, min kotta and Evinrude 30hp. Excellent for estuaries.

    Great report. Fished there 8 years ago from the boat but it was way too hot. All the fish was sitting too deep in the lake so we went too see the hatchery in JB. Interesting.
