Pulling in a flathead yesterday in 50m south of Longie when a marlin came up to about 3m .It was leisurely and not lit up.Not a big one,beautiful blue tail and pectorals.Slim profile like a striped but not sure.

The lines on your hand indicate a long and happy life,and that your next flattie will be a little larger

First time fishing outing from rose bay on NY day.8 am police wisely tied up having a coffee awaiting punters. Funny, few to be seen .Easy launch and GOT A PARK!!!!Amazing.Went outside to Dee Why wide,excellent fishing for reddies,two trag ,flathead and mowies.One stonker but old style phone camera overfull, so no evidence taken.School of tailor 200m off ramp.Harder on retreive with plenty at ramp. Good day on the water after NYE.

Head North to 3Miles off Baldface.Very good kings and reds at times.Look for pro traps.Lots of reef heading North from here.The pros call this the New Ground.Baldface is an obvious half moon shaped cliff .Can be lots of trag or jew also.Plenty of flathead anywhere,often plenty of current around .The bait comes mainly in autumn,when you get much more fish than November but still good.Let us know how your beach launching goes,good luck.There is also a reef rising to 10 m a mile off the beach a mile out and a little north.you catch big pigs here with prawn.The Skeleton looks great but is best for surface fish trolling,or gathering slimies,

Last week loads of frigates in shallow .also plenty of good sized squid just out from the Bendalong ramp.A small silver lure very effective for the bonnies and frigates.Good luck.What a beautiful area.

Wonder what happens to fish that break off trailing line .Probably shark poo?Sharks would detect tiring prey.

Bill you have taken the tinny man"s worst nightmare on the upside.Great to hear your positive outlook.The wife"s theory is that the perpetrators have taken the boat to sea and scuttled it,based only on the debris looking very much like a piece of bowrider upholstery or seat being undamaged,not torn or damaged .it would normally be spotted at the time of the incident one would think.B......it? Rang maroubra Police and they are asking the surf club to pick up the piece for safekeeping.

This morning there is a large piece of white boat seat or upholstery leaning against the wall at coogee south end pool.It has been washed up and not been in the water long as it has no weed growth on it.A long shot but the tide could have taken it out and the current or wind south.Could be part of bowrider upholstery

They tenderise occies in a cement mixer at the fish markets

If kingie fishing Old Gulch first find a dead squid washed up after spawning or whatever.Deadly using strips under afloat.The locals will tell you where to look for one.

When they are tentative you can feel them touching the jig only I have tried rubbing fresh prawn over the jig with no result but rubbing pillie over the jig got hookups.

Thanks for the great report.The candles are very tender and cook easily but the stomach sheet is different,good to know you cut it thin because we don't always succeed with the tenderising attempts.Cheers.
