Billy and Adolf from Coogee Fishos used to drive a tinny to the Mattens and get out at the back of it.Very successful with blackfish ,always seemed to be cleaning a 3 figure catch back at Coogee.Really appreciate the history or your stories Waza,and respect the gutsiness of the climbs.

Top production,interesting.Fished Coogee island for a few decades.A couple of real experts outfished me 6/1.There are all types of weed.Old blokes with long sight did well, but could not see to thread a line thru a hook if the rig was lost to a pig.Saw several three figure catches from the 2 guys who went round the back of the Mattens andlanded their tinny.One of the best of all fishing modes,Not many can be done in a person"s 80's.Congrats.

Bruce if you've got a mask and snorkel swim around the pylons and crabs will be sitting on them.Got plenty at Ceduna wharf .They jump and swim off but easy catch in the weed.Afterwards reflected on the white pointer population.

Was pulling in a squid to the kayak,and it leaped out of the water!!!!!! A turtle was after it .

Ask the locals where the dead squid wash up on shore and you will have great strip baits for kingies.

Costco has Phillips for$350.00.We have enough kitchen stuff.Stainless lidded pots going well after 40 years,great wedding gift from inlaws. Ovens are often far to big for what one needs ,so usefulness of airfryers obvious.Cheers all.

Thanks K C and Connico.Have had many BBQ's but dont like the char,congealed fat and general mess.Iknow thats unAustralian and unmanly!!!Have been cooking 450/500g size.Best BBq Seen was a scavenged flat steel plate and 4 bricks in the backyard.

Ok, i wont be getting an airfryer.Thanks for your replies.I dont use any bbq,so will continue to make a mess in the kitchen.Absolutely love ocky since daughter showed me how to marinate and fry.Great hot or cold.Will next try boiling a larger one first.

Anyone use an air fryer to cook Greek style marinated octopus? If so, how does the result compare with BBQ ?

Know how you feel Dogbox.I have only fished acouple of times this year.Miss fishing ten times more than having adrink.You forget about alcohol after months wilthout,but you get that wondering feeling every time you see the ocean.There is a full recovery in sight for me fortunately.

acquire a chinese vegetable chopper.Go out to gutter or other suitable hard surface,place chopper on squid block aligning with "grain" of squid so they stay whole,bash with a piece of wood,e g a 30cm piece of 4 x 2. Its quick,easy,non defrosted and squid mainly stay whole.I think fish like the pong/stink of Cali squid.Good luck.

Had a 5.5 Formosa for only a short time as the wide front bashed into the sea and my legs couldnt take it.Not ayoung man's problem.Good luck in the search,there are so many good options.

Running out of red and green Asian curry paste.So combined them 50/50 adding coconut cream.Wowee!!! So thats how the restaurants do it .easy as !!!! What a taste !!!!!

Thanks for comments .Kingie Chaser was that the young lady falling off her skis?Scratchie,sounds good to me. Have had other similar swims in various places like Narooma ingoing tide Inlet,clear water lots of rays and fishlife,First Beach Seal rocks to Fishermans beach,many fish and baitfish.Clovelly to Gordons Bay,Gordons bay to Coogee Beach, all good aquatic adventures.Only saw sharks in earlier years of speared fish on towed lines.
