2. Hi guys, Had to take a fridge up forster long w/e for the outlaws so arranged a fish with Roberta. Plan was to fish from yaks,i was looking foreward to it heaps as ive never sat in one let alone fish in one. Met up early sun morn and loaded yaks and after a crash coarse on how to not drown lol we set off for the leases. We started off tossing lures for bream and i was getting hookups nearly every cast first hour or so, just wish it was something with fins not wood.. Lol . Currents pushed lures under racks while retrieving so i prob needed more experiance to stop hooking racks. Had 2 hits but pointy bits didnt stick. Roberta on other hand has a very different story to tell but ill let her tell it .. Off next to target blackies and soon enough downs are happening. Got my first in the bag wooohoooo , not huge but a keeper . Was not hot fishing but enough downs to keep interested and 2 keepers from the yak on my first session was good feeling and getting smashed by the bigger brutes who dart out steal everything while heading straight back under racks was exciting. I think 6lb leader gave them way too much advantage. Started at about 9am and watched an amazing sunset while cleaning fish and my dodgy back held up fine which was my only concern.. Thx heaps Roberta for an amazing day out on a perfect winters day in a very beautiful place. God i miss forster.. Sooooo much fishy water to escape the crowds. I now understand how guys get right into yak fishing .. Cheers..steve... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

6. Hi guys, Met up with my partner in crime again this morning but first spot was not looking good so a quick change of spots was made. Armed with better hooks and 2 x rebuilt floats i was out of excuses this time. Pretty soon into it my mate is on and we net a very fiesty blackie. Well the small schools of 1/2 dozen to dozen were moving around alot and we never made burly as first spot we were gonna fish is better without. My shoulder is not good and sand good walk away so we decide to keep plugging away and did it very tough.. Well i did it touch more to the point.. My mate had about 4 in the bag over a couple hrs with me struggling to get downs.. My mojo was very much missing in action. So i did what anyone would do facing annilation like i was getting, i rubbed my rod tip up an down on his float and then bugger he got a down and missed it.. Woooohoooo looks like it worked and i stole his mojo.lol.. I proceded to get the next 3 fish and now his float was the one inches away sitting proud while mine continued to get fussy but very much welcomed downs.. . We got a few throwbacks and got a feed of good eaters to high 30's and nearly all fish were choccas with food, well conditioned and very fiesty for their size. Burly would of made it heaps easier and woulda kept schools in target zone so lessons for others is always take burly as it will make a difference most times.. I gave my mate his mojo back as i farewelled him on what was a cracker morning weatherwise just need to get my act together fishing wise. Cant complain as a feed was got and we had fun. . Cheers... 8. Not a huge amount of fish but conditions pretty ordinary with sunday canned. Few jellybeens and couple big yf to 80kg. Couple stickfaces around and some good water forming off bermi now. Heres local rag with their report of it. http://www.naroomanewsonline.com.au/story/1519094/narooma-news-fishing-report-may-22/?cs=1615 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
9. Stewy, i used to think years ago only bigger ones had them but last few years have found them in smaller ones so i think bigger ones being older mayby why more often. When kingies have them the flesh is more affected than what blackies do and have heard about icing in slurry to help stop flesh degrading so may try it with blackies if it becomes a problem. 10. koalaboi .. The worms are similar to ones kingies get. White bulbous head and tail of blood like. Can be up to 20 mm or more and typically found near gut in shoulder etc but have found some with lots. Mostly only a couple and i suspect they come from gut cavity and travel into flesh. Im waiting on a reply from julien pepperell if he can help regarding the worms . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
11. Thx Roberta. Hope you find a few with that weed. Next time i come up will plan it better . Let me know if you need more as i can post some up. . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

17. Hi Guys, Havnt fished alot due to life stuff getting in the way but its that time of year i start to get back to my grass roots fishing, yep blacky fever is apon me again. Its this time of year i concentrate on tuna(if the ever turn up) kings and blackies. this w/e i decided it was time to get back into the dark art. weed was sourced friday and i was rapt to see its growing great at one of my sneaky spots . sat morning only had till 8 am as i had my boys soccer to go to and between me and 2 others it was hard going.i got 1 down but lost it after 2 tail beats and got baited once. oh well will have to scope out another place sunday and a plan was hatched. went to a spot that was kinder than sat with that icy wind and my mate joined me for our first fish on em together this year cast in get burly bomb ready but before i lob it my floats on a good down.. woooohooooooo fish on i call as my mate is still getting ready . we net the fish and it is fat, fit, healthy and gave a good account of itself.. well we kept the school there for a while and got a gazillion downs and i would hate to think what our strike rate was as i was failing dismally.in amongst the bag of good eating ones 30-40cm there was a few tiddlers which explained early on why we were missing soooo many.. many tactics were used and was great way to quickly sharpen up our skills and get the brain thinking again.there are lots of schools everywhere and this early in the season they will move around alot and persistence and/or moving around is needed to get success.pulled the pin later than planned at 11am as we were having a great time and was great catching up with my mate again and the banter that flew around was priceless as he was slaughtering me fishing wise but round 2 is mine next sunday morning . 4 out of the 6 i kept had worms and one the flesh affected (coarse texture) so i hope this trend doesnt hapen this year as last year was mainly worm free.. cheers...steve..... 18. Tony i have 5 little ones and yep its too much on my pat malone to keep up with .. Lol.. Had a mad session few months ago with me an my best mate trying to keep up with 8 kids between us on a similar hot bite and had to restrict to only 3 rods in water at time was so hectic.. Writing reports helps to relive the excitement of special days like this.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
19.

Shallow clear water is hard fishing even when they are spawn feeding.deeper water i have found better on those days.. Good luck up forster, its a great place to fish. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
20. hi guys, well i managed to get my 2 eldest boys 8 & 10 outa bed crack of dawn sunday morning. headed to an easy spot for them in pittwater and baited up first rod and as i put float in to check weight it slowly sinks, bugger need to adjust weight. half hearted strike just in case and rod goes nuts with a fiesty Blacky around 32cm. woohoo looks promising. check weight both rods without bait now alls good. bait first one and jesse deploys float by the time i get liam ready jesse is screamin for net and liam does a great job to land woooohooooo now this is what its all about i say. this fish is an absolute cracker and is about 42cm and fat as.. that set the scene for a cracker morning and all i got was the first accident fish and another one when i put float right out wide while i tended to helping the boys and i could hear the alvey clicking over.. we left around 9.30am when the boys had enough and had to get back for lunch BBQ anyhows.we took a good bag of 13 fish,2 big ones 40 and 42cm and rest good eaters mid 30's. fish were smashed by all on BBQ lunch in a beautiful spring day with friends and my boys recounting the stories of big ones lost and landed only hours earlier... couple pics of the boys... cheers....steve....
21.

Yeh the good ol days... Luckily the pros have not worked out a way to get quality table fish from netting. No real commercial pressure means theres plenty for fishoes if they look after them. We go through about 4-5 fish a meal so usually only keep up to a dozen or so. My 2 boys aged 8 & 10 nailed 13 this morning while i played bait man.. Lol. Still a few around.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
22. This only works when they are actively spawning and doing there stuff.. Usually once start finding roe etc around end winter into spring the boys start sqirting sometimes once landed or a gentle push will help. Not foolproof but can work sometimes.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
23.

Yeh stopped by there last week and grabbed some for a bit of variety.. Its growing good everywhere atm.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
24. Is it a coincidence that when one of the jedi's is down injured that there is a mass run of fish feeding like they are safe from harm... I thinks not... heal well master royce.. Stormy, they have been on/off like this in pittwater for about 2 months and last little while the av size is up alot. I got sick of netting and retieing hooks so ran 10lb mono straight through so i could just lift them.a guy watching didnt understand why when i dropped a good eater(33-35cm) and got upset and didnt worry about the 40+ ones lol...Released alot on the lift lol. Still lost a few hooks on bigger ones and nearly lost float twice. Picture this.... Bait up= 5-10 sec... Drop in one of a couple spots there holding count to 10-20 secs if no down swap spots.. Didnt have to swap spots many times..had a handfull of times where it took 5-10 min to find them but was mainly the w/e with bad tide that this happened.. Mid week about 90 mins of mayham and was soooo hard to leave them for work . One of the days i thought the 10lb leader mighta made em shy so switched rods but was just the mood they were in at time grazing instead of wacking baits.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
25. Swell pumping atm... Give it a miss or change to calmer waters.. Good luck.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
