  3. hi mate and welcome are you running mono leader ?what knot are you using to ty it on? as if your braid knots are not the best when they run throw the guides they come lose and let go braid will last longer than mono but you do have to increase your twists on knots i.e on a uni knot 4 turns for mono 8 or more for braid hope this helps cheers miller

  8. hi all as my wife had banned me from fishing for a month i had to come up with a plan to get out fishing so i promised to take her and the kids up to taree to see the outlaws i was allowed to take the fishing gear with me the first day saw me down the beach at low tide searching for a nice gutter for a jew session for the up coming nights of course i took the little soft plastic rod and lure bag as well as some beach worms i got a couple of small flatties in the first gutter but it wasnt right so off down the beach i go the next gutter was perfect steep drop off big and deep had a couple of flicks for nothing so i gave the worms a go not expecting much as it was dead low by now out goes the first bait with a sold take i strike and nothing so out goes the neat bait solid take and im on i call it for a good bream but to my suprise it was a nice black fish for the next half an hour i landed another dozen on worms i keep 5 for the plate and let the rest live to fit another day that night i returned for jews and the next 4 nights with plenty of action just not from the right species plenty of rays and shark bite offs i did manage to land one shark that my father in law mistaken for a jew before i could say not a jew he had the gaff in and was half way up the beach i think it was a little bronze whaler 1.35 m long and on 15lb gear but up a good fight I did have a couple of suspect runs and dropped baits that look like they had been sucked to death if only i could have days !!! cheers miller p.s the wife has just informed me my month ban has started again nnnnnnnnnnnoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
