  1. Poor bugger, that was after we retrieved at approx 1130 when it was a game of scissors, paper, rocks. Nobody wanted to go in. Can't say I blame them. Dan
  2. No I didn't as it was a circus with maritime, council & towies trying to figure out how to retrieve it. I'm sure some pictures will surface from someone as there where a lot of people taking pics. Dan
  3. Did anyone visit Tunks park this morning? I was greeted by something you dont see everyday, a full submerged Toyota hilux with the trailer still attached under the pontoon. Hope the poor bugger had insurance. On another note we managed a couple of rats some big tailor and a small John Dory. Dan
  4. Krispy is spot on the money mate, get some livey's and fish them deep!!! We managed to pull a few rats in middle harbour last Saturday but other than that it was very quiet, thou there are heaps of tailor around if you like catching them. Dan
  5. Nice surgeon there mate! Curious thou, what did you think of it on the plate? How did you prepare/cook it? Dan
  6. Most of it is. Some areas more so than others, but its very dependant on the tide. Dan
  7. HELL YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If your prepared to get wet, the rain doesnt put the fish off, just look at our last session in middle harbour with my bro Greg landing a PB snapper of 60cm+. And that weekend in the space of 36hrs we had more than 50mm of rain. Go for it mate, just buy damn good quality wet weather gear if your in a open tinny like ourseleves. Dan
  8. You can fish off this wharf so long as you dont fish inside the baths as previously stated. Dunno about you but I would hate to have a hook in my foot if you swim there! Dan
  9. Rubbish! I dont have the patience or skill you do! Dan
  10. Nice work Mark , can you please leave some for me and Greg???? Dan
  11. Most definately they are found in Sydney' Dan
  12. Understand in a kayak Dave,,,, if you had of had the amount of water in your kayak as we had in Gregs boat your kayak wouldnt have been floating. There was that much that we could have had the yakkas swimming around in the 100mm of water at our feet instead of the bait tank. Dan
  13. Yup, was caught by Greg in middle harbour yesteday at about 6.15am! The rain killed his phone which meant I had to take a very quick pic on my iphone as we only had 5mins of no p@#$IN@g down rain out of every 1/2 hr, hence the cig in the mouth. Smoke em whilst you got em. Dan
  14. Hey Mike, I still remember that 70 you got! Great fish, yup striped tuna, almost certain, was very suprised to see them there, but just goes to show you, anything can happen. They are probably in middle harbour due to the amount of bait around at the moment. Say neither myself or Greg havent seen you at any of your usual haunts in middle harbour since before Xmas last year,,,, you given up fishing inside since yourve gotten the bigger boat? Dan
  15. Went out yesterday in some awful weather with Greg, he picked me up at Tunks at 5am after he had spent the previous 5hrs catching us some squid and yakkas. Scouting around for a bit we ended up at a spot in middle harbour that was protected by 80% of the wind and sent baits down. Wasnt long before the yakkas started to shake as the were being haressed and we started to lose a few of them to unknowns! After about 30mins one of Gregs rods took a big hit with a yakka on it and went for a little run before we could get to it, luckily for us it came back for a second go with it sticking. Greg called it for a rat as it wasnt taking too much line off his tyrnos, it wasnt until it hit the surface when it went from being a rat, to being a small jew, then with a flash it dawned on us it was a damn good snapper!!!! It was quickly brought aboard and dispatched into the esky for dinner...... It was a new PB for Greg 61cm The action continued to be hot for the new few hours till 9am when the tide started to slow. We managed to catch strippies, watson leaping bonito, spotted a rat hanging around the anchor chain, had surface action busting up all around the boat, on & off during the morning,,, and missed countless other strikes to what we suspect where more reds as they would take a small run with our yakkas before dropping them. All in all a great morning out with us smashing through 13-15yakkas in 1.5hrs whilst the squid barely got a hit. Dan
  16. Which waterway would you be looking at fishing?
  17. Big cuttle make for some of the best bait,,,,,a few of our best sessions on the kings have been because of 3-5kg cuttlefish fish being caught stripped up and send down for hungry kings with cricket scores of kings being landed. Dan
  18. Nice king there mate, looks very fat indeed & well feed! Ive had a 65cm king eat a 27cm pike I used for live bait once, took the king almost 5mins to get it down before the reel started screaming. Think it must have been choking on the pike. Dan
  19. A few mates have hit middle harbour and the rats are in plague proportion with a few unstoppables mixed amongst them. There is also salmon and tailor mixed throughout the area. Try and get some squid and or yakkas, find a drop off with structure nearby and wait. Sorry I cant give you any spots as I havent fished the area for several weeks, all these reports have come 2nd hand from mates. Dan
  20. For fighting abilities, 1m+ king, only caught the one in the harbour with the brother nailing more than 1/2 doz 1m+ kings. But for the mystic and effort involved Jew!!!!!! Hard choice this one. Dan
  21. If only such a thing as "common sense " still exist on the water. Dan
  22. All depends upon the day. Seen yakkas outfish squid alot, and vice versa. This is why you should always have both on board. Dan
  23. Nice work Mark, lucky bugger , whats the biggest you got on fly this trip mate? . Its still all been happening in the Harbour, might see you out on the water this weekend with the 100's of other boaties that have time off over Christmas. Dan
