    Squid

Nice was this off the boat?
  7. North Sydney Woolwich areas and mosman should hold some nice squid
  8. Sweet I must of got there too late and it's a shame because I had love blood worms that always work a treat when I use them. I left there and headed to mosman under the spit bridge shocking as well! All I caught was undersized snapper.
  9. Nah mate I got there around 11pm maybe a little later, also by down stream you mean further towards the boat ramp or the other direction going deeper into the park?
  10. Well I drove in from western suburbs so I had to drive up waroongha road, over the massive bridge & turn around to come back and enter the park. It was a mission and I set up right under the bridge I drove over.
  11. Just got back from there now but what a mission to get there! It's part of a national park and the boat ramp is under construction is that right? Anyways we caught a small bream and released it after that it just died out! Plus the water was very low and too many oyster beds we had to avoid Incase it snagged. Anyways maybe I'll give it a shot next time.
  12. Oh Roseville bridge, I was talking about going to spit bridge and fish under there or you think I'll have better luck out at Roseville? Also any chance of catching squid at Roseville. Thanks zac
  13. Thanks heaps Tom much appreciate matey! By first pylon you mean to the side heading up towards manly near tunks park or the side before getting onto the spit bridge? Really im thinking to fish on the other side of the bridge near the grassland underneath what you think?
  14. Wow really? What's being caught down there? Also what bait is being used and whats the best time to go because I'm planning a late one tonight!
  15. Hey guys thinking of going out for a fish tonight as I have an RDO from work because they are so kind to give me one contemplating on going to the lane cover river for a Jew fish session I know they're a bit dead at this time but it's worth a shot! Also another place I have in mind is tunks park out near the spit bridge so does anyone have any suggestions on what to take and also what species are being caught around those areas? If you can also confirm if there is a chance on getting descent bait such as squid and tailor? Thanks guys!

    Squiddin'

I use a 2.5 squid jig and have no trouble bringing up small and large squid. Usually put two split sinkers on my line and let it drop to the bottom, I finish my cigarette off and then start reeling in slowly that's the best technique as advice I can offer you good luck! Also I have success around Woolwich area always go home with at least 8 squid and good sizes as well
  17. Yer I ate the fish I caught, not the best tasting and I don't think I'll be doing it again. They say it's ok to eat it because I checked the charts on the fisheries website and each species has a limit of what to eat and how many a month. The bigger the fish the less affected they are so if you catch a jewfish then it would not be affected as much as the small species are. Anyways my point being is I did eat this fish but they don't taste as good as the ones I catch in open sea.
  18. they seemed to work pretty good, I was catching monster fish on them and had no problem
  19. Yer mate the fishing is good most f the time there but your best option is to go to breakfast point that's where they bite with me. Also be there in between the tide turn and use bloodworms from your local tackle with a 3/0-5/0 whiting hook, let me know how you both go with that
  20. I was using bloodworms from queensland that my local tackle shop had, whiting hooks and a sinker at the top of my swivel and mate the sizes of these things I caught were from 30cm - 40cm maybe more but nothing illegal was taken it was a cracker night! Not the best tasting coz it's river fish but it was worth staying the night!
  21. Yer around the corner from abbotsford mate stuff that I hate that spot man full of idiots!
  22. Fish the River last night till about 5am this morning and mate what a cracker night! Landed about 6 massive whiting and two massive bream! The Rods were going crazy after each other. We got home cleaned and gutted them ready to serve tomorrow haha
