Hey guys just wanted to know if any good fish are around in the harbour I'm going out tomorrow morning and just wanted to see if there was any spots to look out for? Please inbox me or jst post here thanks

Hey guys going out to botany tomorrow gonna be on the boat just thought I was ask for some advice on some spots to look out for we are chasing the king fish and some smaller species as well also some good calamari so if anyone could please inbox me details or just post them here that would be great I also bought my first popper you think I would have luck with that around there?

Thanks heaps for that mate but yer don't worry my small under sized fish always go back I hate people who keep them or you take a look in their buckets and they have a small bloody bream to take home it f*cking kills me and just makes me want to throw them back in!

Yowie is right mate I had trouble with my first time I started buying pilchards because I was going through the same thing, I would cast and they just come straight off. Pilchards are really soft bait so if you get the salted ones like yowie suggested you have a better chance of them staging on your hooks and the best brand is the tweed bait ones from WA now another trick when you're using gang hooks is to tie a knot around the tail of the pilchard it holds it in perfectly when you're casting! If you live in western Sydney there's a few tackle shops that sell them, there's one on parramatta road auburn and woodville road in Guildford he stays open 24/7 so anytime you need them just go there.

Hey mate nice catch if you don't mind me asking what rig technique do you use when fishing for Jewish using live yakkas?

One awesome fish im still in the suspense of landing my first one could anyone pm me some tips and hints on where to go around the harbour somewhere no one knows about and I'll be sure to keep it secret because I'd hate for people to use and abuse it that's my number one thing I dislike turning up to a public wharf and seeing all these idiots there! If anyone could help it would be much appreciated thanks by the way I am land based no boat

Haha reminds me of when I got my 13ft rod and cast it round the back yard lol ended up going fishing the next day Out of excitement to put it to use still have not caught anything on it hoping for a jewfish.

You will get your occasional salmon round there we once caught a king fish off pilchards just off the grass area at abbotsford wharf

Hey guys contemplating on going fishing right near the air port where the boat ramp is just off general Holmes drive. Just wanted to post this up to see if anyone has been down there to fish and if they have caught anything at all please do reply if you have as it would be a massive heads up before I get out there! I'm going to be using squid, pilchards and prawns for smaller species although I'm targeting jewfish around there. Can anyone suggest anything to take or a certain place I should fish and maintain my spot? If so I would like to here what you all think thank you heaps raiders.

Oh ok fair enough well that's the only places I know of around here, so if you ever decide on coming down to fish the harbour then that's your two best places other than that I have no idea sorry mate. Have you tried an Internet search?

Try abbotsford boat shed they should hire out kayaks there mate they are located near five dock area otherwise manly kayak centre hires them out as well but that's probably a bit too far for yourself
