  1. Under a float is the way to go, no sinker really, or just small enough to keep it there, and yes there are Blackfish and Pigs there sometimes. The bottom is sandy with some boulders and weed mixed in but lots of free ground so as not to snag out far.
  2. If you are mixing them together, then think about which fish breathes more oxygen, the Slimey's yeah, then they take all the oxygen out of the water leaving your squid with nothing to breathe so to speak.
  3. Slimeys need oxygen rich water as has been said, the area you picked them up from may have had good rich water then where you moved to it was not oxygen rich. They dont last long in the estuaries unless there is a decent turn around and influx of this rich oxygen water. A.Dawg, big fish breathe more water/oxygen than small fish, small squid would last longer than SLimeys that are big.
  4. Good spot for Bream, Trevally, Salmon, Kings and Tailor, Jews at night too. Also seem some nice Snapper come in from there during big seas.
  5. From memory Whiting were the worst, followed by Bream.

    No Wash Zone?

Mate i agree, you can go as fast as you want without making wash on the rocks once your wake hits the rocks. I usually travel at warp speed and by the time my wake hits the rocks, its nothing.
  7. Did you look for it, its there

    Green Toad Fish?

Trigger fish hang around fads, could of been them, they look similar
  9. They really start tasting good around the 12kg mark and up. I think maybe the location of where they are caught can help/unhelp the taste, i have caught a fair few from the Parra River around the 5kg mark and they tasted like mud!
  10. Have you considered getting 2 seperate units, safer this way. Its your choice i guess, both great units. I would go Lowrance but cant say anything negative about the Garmin in general.
  11. Thats awesome about the Fridge Billy Get Going for Gold, its about Yellowfin from Bermagui, its pretty good. Steve Starling gets a 92kg from memory
  12. Sportsfishing Series from the U.S are good, " Going for Gold"(YFT) from Bermi is tops, "Blues of Ghana" is unreal, there are so many videos its not funny, but not all from the 80's, i must have about 100 dvd's at home all fishing. May trade with people if they want? Depepnding on what you got?
  13. Top fish, how much did it weigh?
  14. Thats pretty sweet, might need a pole from the back of the seat to the bottom in case it gets pulled to the fron too much? But thats awesome regardless.
  15. I did not think it was 12kg either more like 80cm. Any photos anyone?
  16. Clearly you are the Snapper master off Sydney
  17. I encounted these at the Wedding Cake a few weeks ago, on the radio people were telling me they are Silver Jackets? I have not checked up on that, even charter operators were calling them that there and on the 2KY show. They were in plague proportions.
