Hey guys just a quick report. Been flicking little metals and placcys around a few land based spots catching a heap of bonito, salmon and kings. Kings have only been rats up to 64cm. Landed 5 bonito over 65cm with the biggest being 68cm! sick fun on 6lb!
Having both, I must say they both are great. The rarenium is smoother imo, and just feels better in the hands. However the drag is better on the stradic, and it also look better. I'd go stradic.
Hey raiders,
I'm looking to buy a light rod matched with a daiwa certate 2000 with 4lb. It will be used for bream/flatties etc strictly fishing light plastics. Anything from around 6ft6-7ft6 is fine and preferably 2 piece but one piece will do. Casting weight would preferably be 1/32 - 1/4 ounce. Looking at the daiwa black label versatile 641lxs but thinking it may be a bit heavy being 4-10lb. Looking to spend between 250-300. Any help would be much appreciated Thankyou.
Hey guys,
Heading to lord Howe in January, and looking for a good charter to land some kings etc. money is not an issue. Please pm me if you have any info to share! Thanks.
If that's what you got then yes..... The thinner the mono the more you can put on. If you expect to reach the backing then go 50lb but if not go lighter
I just tie put a rubber stopper, (or use a thick leader knot e.g trouble uni) to allow my rig to go deeper. Then a float to swivel. Then a bout 1m of leader to my hooks.....
In the past I have just simply sprayed WD-40 on my reels after cleaning them. However I've read that this can be very bad for reels and prolonge their "life". Is this true and if so what are some better ways to keep ur reel smooth?
