For yakka use a light rod using either a bait jig, which you can by at most tackle stores, or either baits such as pilchard, prawn, squid etc with a small hook and little to no weight (you can use two hooks for better success)
Good luck,

Hello raiders,
I recently purchased a new shimano bait runner d 8000 for a very good price and I am wondering what rod to pair it up with. I am looking to use it for snapper, kingfish and the odd jew. I need something that I can use both land based and off a boat so nothing to big or to small. It is spooled up with 30lb braid if that helps. I am looking for a shimano rod with anything up to $150.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated,
Thank you
Mr. Fish
Congratulation on the fish, definitely a pearl perch. You should be happy you didn't hand it over as it is a beautiful eating fish, keep it simple and I'm sure it will taste brilliant
