Mate, If you can still find that blank 10 out of 10 Best 15 to 20 pound blank there has been IMO for that style fishing -> ever made. Some one drove over my legend of a rod a few years ago. Forever off the Christmas card list! Please let me know if you find one JD.

Shimano Reels from top to medium range. All good gear 2500 size Reel is what you want. There is many other brands also these days! Shimano Symetre ? bottom end ? NO...... if BOATTART says they are OK .... listen, it would be good gear. ShimanoStradic CI4 $ 220 + ish Very nice! Shimano Stella out of the budget range but VERY NICE STUFF

Hi guys Can you tell me if size matters when doing Bonito for Sashimi. Are the bigger models a bit more ? Mushier ? I would hate to know how may Bonito I have only used for bait or processed for cat food in the past! Next one will be getting bled and straight into a ice slurry JD

Both of above is GOOD ADVICE Your Mrs is right have concern if you have a bit of doubt about the running gear. You see far to many road side disasters because of ignorance, so good for you to be looking into it now not after the fact JD.
