Will sms you my dark dates so you can check!!! ................Norm

Sorry Norm no black fish. It's all flathead and whiting.

Next dark is just before Xmas.

  2. IMG_4055.JPGBeen fishing with Frank a couple of weeks ago and last Friday. We caught a nice feed both times the trick is to keep moving until you find them. Frank is the master at that always puts us on the fish. Legend. IMG_4060.JPGAlso went with Marvin in his new boat. We caught a few had lots of fun. Poor Marv had a little problem launching the boat last time. He has a new car now. IMG_4059.JPGFrank maybe the flathead king but Marvin is the best prawner I've seen. I can be standing next to him and he'll double my catch. Give you his prawns give you anything. Lovely bloke. IMG_4061.JPGI've been getting a couple of kilos during the November dark. Marv has been filling the bucket. Bit disappointed in the size so far this year a bit smaller than the last few years but still very tasty.

Im experiencing the Xmas rush at work at the moment so it's a bit hard to fish and prawn at the right time. Couple of weeks and I'll be on holidays and into it full time.

Im also making my second guitar a 12 string acoustic. Sorry just had to mention that.

    Cheers Steve

  3. I've seen a 52cm caught on the wall at the entrance. Not by me but one of the old guns Darrel. I know this as I measured it and I went to the fork of the tail so it would have been even longer. Looked like a grouper. Huge in width as well. No photo or record it was years ago now.

  4. would love to learn how to prawn.

I reckon if i learned to prawn and got prawns i would give fishing away.

It's not hard. Check your area at night look for the lights. Ask around see if their running. October November and right through summer.

Important to check your spot at the same tide during the day. Do a bit of recon.

Stay safe. If your wearing waders you can sink like a stone. Always put a belt on.

  5. Forgot to ask, were you wading or from a boat?

Yes October 15 or 16 for 3 weeks. I wade in the shallow water. We need a run out tide on dark at The Entrance. They swim out to sea to spawn.

Might be different in your area as up lake munmorah way they are greasy back prawns which live in the lake. Tide doesn't matter and they can use drag nets.

We can only use scoop nets and there is regulations on size and length. Max catch 10kilo bucket. Don't forget the fishing license

  7. Well done Jeff and the boys. You'll talk about that for the rest of your life. Worse part is coming home to normal fishing. But theses are the things we work hard for. So save up and go again before you get too old like me.

Grate mate. Really happy for you.
