That's one awesome boat!

I am just starting to get into SP and was wondering what kind of set (ie rod length and weight, reel size and line class etc) other people are using?
-
They just said on Hi-Tide that the wind is forecast to drop this afternoon. Lets hope that change comes through early!

After reading that yet another person has had a tyre blowout I realise I should get off my bum and get myself a spare wheel for my trailer. I have a Dunbier trailer with 13inch wheels with 5 studs. My question is where is the best place to get one of these from. Can I get one from Dunbier or should I go to a dealer or can I pick one up from a wreckers?

We are going to Windang next weekend and I am thinking of taking the boat. Has anyone fished Lake Illawarra lately and/or got any tips?

I had a big shovelnose 'fight' like that up the Hawkesbury a few years back.

Also you can get flathead from the concrete wall down towards Dolls Point/Sans Souci at high tide. This would be a good spot for those land based participants in the flathead social.

What weight and size jighead is best?

I lot of guys are sayiong how well the Gulp sandworms ad grubs work and I was wondering how use them. Do you rig them with a jighead or just use them as you would a normal bait?
-
I've got an alvey 650c which I've had for about 20 years, It's got the star drag but you can also apply the hand drag method if you like, which is very handy if you hook that very strong fish, I've replaced some parts once in it's life and it has been the best reel I've ever owned, match it with a 14" alvey rod and you have got a serious piece of of beach and rock big fish fighting reliable gear, believe me you will wear out before this does.
I'd have thought that you'd want something a bit longer than 14"!!!!!

We had lunch at Brighton today and there was a howling southerly on BB.

You can blame me. Ever since I bought my boat the weekend weather has been crap. I think I have the most expensive front yard ornament in my street!

Just wondering what the depth is just out of the beach. Is it possible to beach a 5metre boat there?
the reason i ask is because on sunday i tried to beach just south from that area and i got stuck in 0.3 metre water, which made the engine jump and take on sand in the inlet. Also had to wade the boat out to deeper water..
I will be there this Sunday so I will check the beach out. My boat is 4.5 metres.

What price a fish?

We could always use Kyeemagh. There is a 4 lane ramp, poontoon, plenty of parking and a bit of a park with tables etc!

We will be in a boat.
