  1. Well, I haven't been fishing in ages! (Vomit) but my mates are telling me, the inshore reefs are fishing quite well for reds! The Flatty have started to turn up but the water is still coolish, so slowing down a retrieve will help. The weather looks ok for tomorrow, a little windy to start, swell good but there is a bit of ground swell about! Broughton is always worth a shot anytime of year! Good luck, I wish I wasn't working and I'd come with you! Cheers scratchie!!!
  2. Well done birch tree! Great report and first post! There's nothing like walking along flicking sp's and coming up tight! Especially when it's a nice jewfish on the end of the line! Keep em coming! Cheers scratchie!!!
  3. Thanks finin! Nice feed there!
  4. Did I write something??? Or were you reading my mind on where's your actual report???
  5. This fish has done the rounds everywhere!
  6. Cheers Sasha, I thought so! I was dared to eat one during a school camp when I was younger! Tasted nothing like chicken
  7. No worries luke. The key to it is the speed of the boat 2 knot max. Once you find the structure and sound out fish, stall the boat to neutral and let it sink, if no takes, repeat the process. When you hook up, fight the fish like normal and once you get to the sinker, just break the rubber band, very simple!
  8. It's the least I can do. I'm off to Darwin next Friday, so hopefully you'll see a report in a few weeks of a big fish with your name on it!Fabian, I'll also dedicate one for you! As it's stories like yours that reminds me to enjoy every moment!
  9. What are bardi grubs??? And what do you use them to target??? Cheers scratchie!!!
  10. Welcome to Fishraider wayne! You will get all the advice you need from this forum! Anything fishing related, just use the "fishing chat" section and fire away! Trolling is a great way to spend time with the kids on the water looking for some decent fish. Out of the seaway, they have runs on Spanish and spotted Mac and plenty of reefs for snapper and trag. Good luck and look forward to your reports! Cheers scratchie!!!
  11. Too much trouble Luke. Just connect a weight like 8oz to the main line with an elastic band about 20meters from the hook. It's called a poor mans rigger. Can be used from kings to marlin! Just make sure you pin the livey through the nose and not the back so it can swim naturally. I've caught both using this technique. Cheers scratchie!!!
  12. Looks like some bargains to be had at that hot tackle store! I'm sure swordies wallets a bit lighter! Cheers scratchie!!!
  13. Fab, it just goes to show the strength of character you have. Your loss is tragic but it has moulded you to who you are now! I'm sure this post has made quiet a few people sit back and reflect on the important things in life! So thank you for sharing! Xsite, I feel for you tremendously of your situation. Nothing I say or do will help you but I know your quest of a 15kg fish is beyond you. So my next big fish will be dedicated to you! Cheers scratchie!!!
  14. See sasha, you can teach an old dog new tricks! Now to add to your range of sp's....lol. It's an expensive sport. Well done though mate! Sounds like a great day out with the family! Cheers scratchie!!!
  15. Well, I'd say Fishraider or angler too! And just remember fellas, this site is owned by a woman. And without her tireless contributions and efforts to make this a successful site, we wouldn't be on here talking about anything! Cheers scratchie!!!

  20. Exactly!!! Site rule....... 13. No criticism of legal catches and/or inappropriate imposing of C&R views in fishing reports! I think what savit posted gives you an idea on the age versus size of the fish. The catch and release side of it is up to you! Cheers scratchie!!!
  21. What car??? One covered in bubble wrap! Lol I know the feeling Jim, my eldest just got his Learners yesterday! Scary!!! Kids generally don't think practical, they want cool. No matter what you choose, just tell them you'll put a good stereo in it and they'll be happy! Cheers scratchie!!!
  22. Your setup sounds fine to me! Everyone will have an opinion on what type of sp's to use but I guess whatever works on the day! Good luck! Cheers scratchie!!!
