  1. Not wrong Pete! That was my only target species all day! I did see a few large models come onboard though!
  2. Kids had a ball and a swim afterwards. I didn't even take a rod myself.
  3. also managed to get up to Broughton island with my mate Dom "the snapper whisperer" for an eventful day! trolled livies around the new pen for no takers but did see a 4m plus great white! Hmmmm no wonder! Headed up and Dom had a play with a spritely hammerhead. Then drifted the outer reefs where Dom came to his own and nailed 3 nice snapper over 65cm and the biggest going 78cm. I caught more Sargent baker than were necessary and I was convinced Dom was putting repellent on my lure!!! The only drag I had going all day was the effort from a small bronzey and my cigarette! At least I got to net a few! Also had to be towed in by marine rescue on the way home as Dom miscalculated the fuel required! great day out with a lot laughs along the way, you can't ask for more! Cheers scratchie!!!
  4. G'day raiders, Just a couple of quick reports from the lovely P.S! Managed to take the little kids out to test their new Xmas presents and both had a great time! Plenty of whiting about the bay all falling to prawns or nippers!
  5. Well done cj! I moved the post as it belongs in the "fishing report" section. Cheers scratchie!!!
  6. Nice swano! Ive done the yakking thing myself there but never taken a rod! Beautiful country to just cruise through! Looks like you both had a nice day! Cheers scratchie!!!
  7. I was very inpatient when I first started chasing them. It's just time on the water Steve and your time will come! Cheers scratchie!!!
  8. Paul, To simplify it! If it is not within the "size and bag limits" unfortunately it must be returned to the water regardless of condition. Unfortunatley, I have a new phone and lost my links. Maybe another raider can help out! Cheers scratchie!!!
  9. If I get out fishing once, I'd be happy JD!
  10. Yep they are there! Two weeks ago seen a free jumper in close. My mate went out on Sunday and was hearing action on radio but they only managed 2 big bulls! Now with this southerly the warm water should push in a little closer too! Exciting times!
  11. Well done Sasha! Great way to start the year. I'm yet to have my first fish but might take the kids today! cheers scratchie!!!
  12. Great report and good to see you giving back some information to the fishraider community! Cheers scratchie!!!
  13. I just love that sound!!!! Bad luck on pulling hooks but as you said, he was just too good! Cheers scratchie!!!
  14. Nice CJ. If you add a bit of a report to it, you can place it in the "fishing report" section! Cheers scratchie!!!
  15. Hey mike, go to the big camping, fishing store at Penrith and get a sienna combo for about $80. The nepean river under the bridge across from the log cabin is a great area to target bass! Shallow divers in this area early morning and late afternoon should provide a few fish! cheers scratchie!!!
  16. Hey Paul, I think what you did was very admirable and you showed your best intentions to release the fish. However, under DPI rules, any fish that is not within the rules and regulations with regards to "size and bag limits" must be returned to the water! (Penalties apply) This is a timely reminder that we are all responsible to know these "rules and regulations" whilst recreational fishing. Regards, scratchie mod team
  17. Happy new year everyone! I hope 2017 is prosperous for all. Cheers scratchie!!!
  18. Awesome to see you and mike back! Cheers scratchie!!!
  19. Sorry mate! Only joking. At the end of the day, what did you catch it on? A soft plastic!!! But there's something special about working the sp and feeling the bite, striking and your on! You also find there are less pickers and unwanted by catch! Good luck on your next trip and merry Xmas!
  20. Great report Gordo! But your being a bit sneaky there. You can only count one fish on sp as you were actively fishing for it! Lol. It's a great way to target fish and sometimes the motion of the ocean is all you need! cheers scratchie!!!
  21. Stockton beach can throw up some real thumpers! Especially with the run of the mullet. 3 jew of a meter is a fine effort! Well done! cheers scratchie!!!
  22. Thanks Steve! Merry Xmas to you too!
  23. I love the inshore program up here! It gives even the smallest boats a good chance!
  24. Some real decent bream there! A shame there wasn't a few prawns to go with it! Cheers scratchie!!!
  25. Awesome Luke! I bet that fish made you feel a lot better. Lol. The servo pies will get you every time! Congrats on your first jewfish mate! cheers scratchie!!!
