  1. Unfortunately jay I hear the same thing from Sydneysiders all the time. It's also unfortunate that we can't teach common sense. If I was you, I would get myself a tinny and open up your fishing experiences to a whole new world. Not a 5hp either. Something with maybe 25-40hp and that will open a few more areas as you become experienced. As for swimming, I'm not a strong swimmer either, that's what life jackets are for! I regularly go to the shelf, so swimming in from there isn't an option! Lol. Don't let that deter you! As I said, it's all about common sense! Good luck with your decisions! Cheers scratchie!!!
  2. Great video fellas. Looks like there was a bit of mayhem at one point! Always good to hear that reel singing! Cheers scratchie!!!
  3. Nice work! Beautiful fish they are and great on the BBQ too! What was the water temp you found out on the shelf and where you caught the mahi? Cheers scratchie!!!
  4. Great first fishing report little mate. You've been hanging to get that one done! To your credit, you never give up and are always keen to come out with dad, no matter what silly time of the day he leaves! Especially if it means a day off school. Cheers scratchie!!!
  5. Great write up and nice fish! Already a screen saver? Congrats on landing such a beast! Cheers scratchie!!!
  6. Mission accomplished, well done! Although the next challenge is to go out there and do it again. Try and remember the tide, time, technique etc and that's the key to chasing jew! Great work Cheers scratchie!!!

If you do a search of this site you'll find plenty of other places to drop on the way for kings, snapper, gem fish, blue eye trevalla etc. Cheers scratchie!!!

  11. Great info there capt ahab! Unlucky you didn't turn a reel but I'm sure your report either saved members some petrol or inspired them to go and find something! Thanks for sharing! Cheers scratchie!!!
  12. This is directed at all Fishraider members. I've had to delete a couple of posts due to this reason. Let me also debunk a myth that all big flathead are female. Whilst of a mature age flathead do produce more eggs, they don't not change sex and maintain there gender throughout their life. Volitan, Great catch and being of legal size, mate you do whatever you wish with your hard earned catch! I would! Cheers scratchie!!!
