  1. Thanks grant but the weather wasn't great so we decided on a few different spots along the way. I really need to go back up for a week with my boat and so some exploring. There are estuaries and rocky outcrops everywhere!
  2. Well done young fella! You haven't sold me on the fly yet. For your 10,000 casts, the return is not there yet. But your persistence is very impressive and has contributed to my empty wallet! Congrats Cheers scratchie!!!
  3. Landing a tuna that size off terrafirma no matter whether they have been dropped off there or swam there is a massive task! It certainly puts the odds in the fishes favour as structure, conditions and the ability to land the fish all lean towards the fish pulling hooks. It's hard enough trying the same feat from a boat with the ability to chase the fish in deep water let alone land based.
  4. He actually caught 2 that day! The one that is pictured was 94kg and the smaller one at 73kg! There is a YouTube of its capture! Wonder where it is? They got a boat to come on and take them away. Amazing footage! Cheers scratchie!!!
  5. I've also decided that we will fish all the way home, so any ideas from coffs to port Stephens that aren't too far from the highway would be great. Cheers scratchie!!!
  6. Fished coffs creek yesterday for 30mins between matches. Had a couple of hits on hard bodies from bream but no hook ups. Also fished at urunga in the arvo. A very fishy place and somewhere I'd like to revisit with a tinnie. Current was too fast for throwing sp's but we managed a couple of Flatty further upstream.
  7. IMO snapper taste good no matter what the size! The bigger they are, the bigger the fillets!
  8. I think it was a full toss but straight on middle stump!
  9. It's actually the largest in the world! And thanks Steve! Couldn't have been a better cast. I think I threw it down his throat!
  10. Well done trev!!! It just goes to show that jewfish are creatures of habit and will often show up in the same place at similar tides! Something in that for all you guys chasing Jews! Great work Cheers scratchie!!!
  11. Good onya Danny! That was a nice boat you were on and I was very envious of your balcony heater that continued throughout the night! Sorry to hook up when I woke up for 5mins knowing you guys had been at it all night! I'm sure we'll see you next hairtail social. Cheers scratchie!!!
  12. So, after watching the boys play 6 games, we zoom off home about 330pm. Sorry I can't drive pass that huge tackle store. 2 second look and thought no, I'll come back when I've got more time. Race home get the gear, ring my mate and his kids. Go pick them up, scream down boambee beach and tie new leader and jig, cast out and bang! Onto a nice flatty! Only had a half hour window and that was it. But tomorrow looks promising and I have a few hours to cast away!
  13. Looks like a land based session! Can't wait!
  14. Geez Shaun and we had a few concerned about the wind. Lol Well I always say Effort=Reward. You put the biggest effort in getting there and you were rewarded with not only a PB but the biggest of the weekend. Cudos to you! Well done mate, your a champion! Cheers scratchie!!!

  17. No worries sasha! It was great to meet you and your son Anthony too! What a trooper he his. Mate we went to bed earlier than the old people lol but I got up about 1130 and changed baits 30secs later bang! Nic one on 4lb gear. I woke the boys up and landed. Back to bed got up just now and dropped another after changing baits! Hmmm might be something in that. Anyway, you have my number and feel free to ring when your heading my way and need a 4mydecky! Cheers scratchie!!!
  18. I didn't hear a thing Noel. Today was pretty ordinary for us. Boys picked up a flatty and a nice sambo! Dinner now, then back out on the hunt!
