  1. As long as you take it out the water before you drive off! Looks like a decent size pot to me!
  2. Great stuff mate! What a top way to spend the arvo on Father's Day and a nice jewel to cap it off! Well done Cheers scratchie!!!
  3. Hey Ben! I haven't yakked the manning yet but it's on my to do list! I have a mate up here that's done it many times so I'll pm you some info if I can get a hold of him! I have yakked further up in the Maria river. Great spot for bass and EP. I will be interested how you go! Cheers scratchie!!!
  4. Enjoy your trip ray! You sure have earned it! Hope everything goes well for you! Cheers scratchie!!!
  5. Unlucky on the conditions mate and the rod! But as you said, it's nice to skipper your own boat! It's definately PJ season atm. Plenty of them about! Cheers scratchie!!!
  6. Go down the western side of the nepean across from the log cabin. You can walk for the banks there. Early morning and late arvo, surface lures work good. During the day use deep divers! Being new to it, it's all about trial and error. I use tailor made surface walkers or crank38 shallow and deep divers. Good luck! Cheers scratchie!!!
  7. Mission accomplished Mr. Groper! It's funny how a decent snapper makes the nice size pannies look smaller! Well done fellas Cheers scratchie!!!
  8. No worries! I'm here to help out any raiders that travel in my neck of the woods! I always need an excuse to go fishing
  9. Great spot that upper tilligerry creek especially from a yak! Lots of oyster leases there, so I hope it didn't do too much damage!
  10. Flatheadluke, That is great that you have gone to the lengths you have to make sure that you are only keeping legal fish. I commend you for that. Some people place importance on different things whilst fishing. For you it seems that you like to catch legal sized fish to keep and that's great. For me, I don't even care if I don't catch anything, I just enjoy being out there having a go! So my comment was generated by the expectations I have when I go fishing, "if I have to measure it, then it's going back". I don't always come home with a feed and sometimes I choose to let everything go back but geez I have fun while I'm out fishing albeit from a boat, rock, beach or a crowded wharf! I don't think anyone was having a go and infact the information you have provided will certainly help someone on this site. So thanks for that! Cheers scratchie!!!
  11. Of all of them no whiting??? Except for trumpeter???? And what about squid???
  12. Probably worst time of year to fish IMO. But you still managed a feed yowie! Do you eat aust salmon? If so, how do you cook them? I've only ever made fish cakes of them! But anything can make fish cakes! Cheers scratchie!!!
  13. Either that or a couple of nice new Stella's!!! ?
  14. Tell your dad you want one for Xmas!
  15. Generally, if I have to measure a fish, it's going back!
  16. Lol.... Maybe not but they were definitely related!
  17. Mate, me and you already have a date next year but we might have to add this one to the list. We'll just follow dom everywhere!
  18. If you notice the blochie skin and a purple tinge. They also have a more turned down mouth and generally only grow to a max of 30cm. Quite easy to tell them over a sand whiting especially side by side. There are no legal size limits for them but a bag limit of 20. I generally only take the ones over 25cm and they eat just the same!
  19. Now I wish I took a photo of the squire I caught on the weekend. It was hanging out of the prawns mouth it was that small.
  20. Thanks 4mydad! If this is who I think it is, you'll always catch more than your dad, Anthony!
  21. 1. Atlantic salmon 2. YFT 3. Longtail tuna A must with pickled ginger and soy! Wasabi optional.
  22. A spheros 8000 will be perfect with that rod. Strong and should cost about $300!
  23. That's correct. The sand whiting haven't fired up yet. Let me tell you there's no difference in taste!
