  1. I tried one the other day but no takers! I plan to use the ones I have this week so I’ll let you know. The action of them is definitely different to the usual sps. My plan is to use a lighter jig and leave in the holder drifting behind the boat. Either that or cast and retrieve with long loops. I think during winter chasing snapper that they may come into their own! Only way is to get out and have a go! I’m interested in other people’s experiences too! Cheers scratchie!!!
  2. Ok. Well you can fish the short cut for bream and flathead. Drift the leases over there for the same. Pindimar Bay is also another good spot and you will pick up whiting as well. The wreck at corlette in the bay is work a shot for Jew so to the steps at fame cove. These areas are easy to spot on navionics. Good luck! cheers scratchie!!!
  3. Looks like the usual spot rick! It’s been a while. Thought I’d see a bigger smile than that! Haha. Nice ? cheers scratchie!!!
  4. Well John, the longtail are round the area atm. What type of boat do you have and what is your preferred method of fishing? This will help me assist with your options! Cheers scratchie!!!
  5. Welcome aboard Mike (pilchard haha) and the deckee team! By the sounds of your passion for the ocean and everything associated with it you have acquired a premium family friendly website that holds a wealth of knowledge. It’s great to see the swordies have remained as community managers as their passion and experience is second to none! I look forward to the exciting times ahead for Fishraider! Cheers scratchie!!!
  6. All the best Pete! Your an absolute champion. I still remember our hectic weekend on the Hawkesbury river at the hairtail social. Actually you still owe me a coffee! Haha. All the best to you mate! Cheers scratchie!!!
  7. Very difficult to target in the bay! Often shy due to boat traffic. There are far better places to target them offshore!
  8. Broughton reds are plenty! If your trolling, try the eastern side of little island from the bommie and troll north. We landed 5 Bonnie’s and a king in 5 mins there last week. King pens are done and dusted but the flatty drift there still good. I’m good to go on Monday baz but thinking snapper and longtail. Up to you if you want to go to the fad. Waiting on reports tomorrow from the team!
  9. Well the boys went up there today and left me at work! ?. They smashed it and there were plenty of snapper at my spot! They also picked up a nice longtail.
  10. Can’t say i know him but I’m sure if I ask around I’ll find him! Plenty of fishos up here, someone always knows someone else!
  11. Cheers rick! It was an absolute belter of a trip! That bar is not for the faint hearted. Although, we did push the envelope and got out with 2m swell and 15-20 knot southerly!
  12. G’day raiders, Well yesterday we spent the day land locked due to 2m swell and 25 knot southerlys (well sort of). We used the day to make rigs, respool, re-tie etc until about 3pm when we thought we’d go have a look at the bar. We all agreed that it was possible, even if a little dodgy. Made it out and was greeted by a chopped 2m swell and the wind had died to 15 knots. Not pleasant but fishable. Threw stick baits for an hour to cure the soul and headed on as the light faded. Today, we headed out at first light, collected our live bait and headed for the grounds. The boys threw sticks whilst I watched over the livies. It was a great morning session with another solid Spanish on a livie and a jellybean yft on a popper! On the way home now from an awesome trip with our mission completed! A big thanks to Dom and Bevy. And to Dom for keeping us safe on his weapon of a boat the Edgewater 188c cheers scratchie!!!
  13. Pearl perch record is 63cms on bait and there is no record on lure! Did you get a measurement by any chance nipper?
  14. Well that’s disappointing! Traveling to Port Stephens and not wetting a line. And yes it was definitely mine! Tough part of Australia to live in but someone’s gotta do it.
  15. Solid effort right there! What a gun! Cheers scratchie!!!
  16. I might be allowed out Monday if you want a crew member?
  17. What an awesome haul. That pearlie is a monster. I’m heading to crowdy in the morning, do you mind me asking what area you got the spotties and what rig were you using? Cheers scratchie!!!
  18. Just love when they go ariel. Hope you enjoy the edited video!
  19. Thanks paddy! We forgot our nets which is a bummer.
  20. Thanks Jon! We are going to fish the wall and beach for something different. The bar would have been ok this morning but nowhere to hide out there. It’s blowing 25kts now s/w. Might pull the pin tonight and head to crowdy early morning!
